I agree that Green Lantern doesn't need to be serious but this movie still looks like a pile of **** with bad acting and bad CG.

Is Ryan Reynolds on a quest to play every single comic book character? If I were DC/Warner Bros, I wouldnt want some guy who played a Marvel character to be playing one of DC's major characters. I hope the sequel will feature Hal Jordan as White Lantern. Why? They'd have to rush through the Blackest Night, not to mention the fact that no one is really a full-on White Lantern yet, with the exception of maybe Boston Brand.

I miss the good old days when you simply had Green Lanterns and one yellow power ring floating around somewhere. I really wish DC would simply reboot their whole convoluted universe again.

I think it looksl ike a fun movie. I don't give a crap about the effects. If the movie itself is really good, bad effects do not bug mei have faith in Martin Campbell.

What's with the "I know, right?" phenomenon that's taking America by storm? Everyone says that poop these days. These days? I've heard people saying that since I was a teenager at least, maybe even younger.

I like the War Of Light, and most of the players involved. I don't like that there are now lanterns of virtually every color of the rainbow. To me the DC universe is so convoluted that the casual comic reader like myself can't even follow it anymore. It doesn't mean anything. You kill off a guy and you bring him back 5 issues later and it means absolutely nothing. If the WWE did stuff like this people would be pissed. In fact, WCW did do ridiculous stuff like this and they no longer exist. I might get back into hardcore comics reading if they rebooted everything and made it all simple again. I think the last time they rebooted was back in the early 80s and the pre-Crisis universe was way less complicated than the current one.

Ummmm, not a huge Green Lantern fan, but I'm pretty sure I'll be checking this out with my kids next summer.
