Legends 2 being cancelled as well as a figure I have been anticipating for 8 years in Shane douglas being cancelled as well as disappointment and not appealing figures, I have decided to quit with Jakks's current day product. I enjoy the TNA roster and I can say that Jakks are putting out tremendous figures like DI 4 Hardy, Abyss, Velvet Sky, DI 6 Kurt Angle, Kaz, Sting/Hogan 2 pack. The point is that I am heavily intrigued in the competition and now am currently on the vurge of buying WWF titantron live figures, certain WWE RA figures, R3 Tech, and TNA Toybiz figures to not only replace the Deluxe figures I have but to have all figures to scale for my figure fed. I also love guys like Amazing red, Hernandez, The Machine Guns, Beer Money But from me growing up with the Attitude Era, I choose APA, New Age Outlaws, Chris Benoit ,Big Bossman etc any day of the week. Yes I am aware most of you will say "great another Mattel guy" well if you all remember back 11 months ago, I hated Mattel. them putting a ton of effort out and giving me my money's worth is what caved me in. Jakks gave me moneys worth but ever since the RA and DA days, it was just hunt for a new figure then get bored with it 2 weeks later and eventually throw it in a bin a year later.
Back when I was very young and my dad collected figures, there were ton of hasbros, Remcos, LJNs, WCW Toybiz and WWF BCA figures in my house. I was just having so much fun with them which got me into wrestling at 5 years old. then the TTL figures came out and I was just even more excited because they were still compatible with my WCW toybiz figs and ECW OSFTM figures as for the BCAs/ 2002 rolls around and R3 tech rolls around and same feeling, I was still so happy cuz the figures looked awesome! but once I bought the first wave of Ruthless aggression with Bischoff, Lesnar, Orton, Mysterio, Chaco and Cena, I noticed that these figures towered over the rest and I was pretty saddened but then happy cuz more and more came out until around 2005 when TNA came out and that was just as bad and a year later DA comes out so I was just at a very annoyed state. CS figures were the relief but the scaling still bothered the crap out of me. Now we go back to the future and the same problems apply. So I would now like to say that it was fun, now time for me to go ahead and restock on nostalgia and the glory days to when I loved wrestling and figues the most as well as current day Mattel!

ANYWAY! (although i kind of agree with SG but he has interesting point not just a random bitch about how they suck. And i feel the same, more figs move on less happy i am. so its a valid thread i only collect ttl majoritively, the odd RA here and there, BCA never got round to 'dig' them you know..... but well. I totally agree, i was marvel tna mad! was only missing a couple but then sold them all when they discontinued and most were released, =/

I think the whole action figure market is changing. Obviously Jakks took a BIG economical hit and had to cut costs on lots of stuff and I'm sure they are not making a fraction of the income they used to with WWE now that they have TNA. I will buy the figures that come out and I like, until eventually there is nothing left worth buying. Since TNA figs rotate quite slow, it works for me. I started off with Mattels but I don't see myself buying much more of them, I just like the Jakks figure style better and I don't see reason for shelling out big bucks for figs I already have in Jakks versions. For me, Mattel is more expensive than Jakks and I don't really see the cost justified, no matter how much so called detail or scale or cloth shirts you toss in, at the end of the day their stuff is just an improvement over Jakks, they are not breaking ground anywhere and after some time, all their figs start looking alike to me. THAT IS JUST MY OPINION. I will stick to whatever new TNA's I like and collect some older vintage stuff and be a happy camper.

Yeah. This entire thread is pointless. If you don't like Jakks, get the crap out of the Jakks board. It's that friggin' simple. We don't need to hear your whine about your lack of interest. Your absence will be plenty.

When Jakks first unveiled their TNA product, I was very disappointed. How I'd love to see Shelley, Sabin, Styles, Daniels etc. in scale and properly detailed, yet they came out with simple repaints of their old WWE stuff. But I understand now, that TNA is a much smaller brand compared to WWE. Jakks can't afford to create new bodies/ sculpts. If they weren't doing it for the WWE, they sure as hell aren't doing it for TNA. Alas, unless another company gets hold of the TNA license (and why would they, Jakks clearly only got it so they could churn out their old parts) we're stuck with these snowboots, Scott Steiner arms and more cost-cutting like cancelling Legends 2.
Before anyone gets on my back about 'hating' on Jakks, they've put out some tremendous stuff in the past (see: Unmatched Fury and R3 among other things). Heck, I am totally buying their Legends Jeff Hardy because of the terrific head and unique paint and like I did with their MCMG set, will possibly buy some of their future product simply because of WHO it is. BUT, there's absolutely no comparison between Jakks and Mattel. Venture out of these boards, heck even this sub forum, and you'll see that that is the consensus.

I'm not down pouring Jakks at all. they did some terrific stuff! my point is how I like both Jakks and Mattel and I try using a Mattel Rey with a Deluxe Amazing Red and it's just....strange Jakks does put out its best effort for a company that isn't as big as Mattel and doesn't have a huge product like WWE is however they are putting out an OUTSTANDING job with the UFC line which is way bigger than WWE or Pro Wrestling right about now and those I still buy and will keep buying them. and ardillita, you have a valid point but you can't say that Mattel got heads turning because they drew in MILLIONS of people with Steamboat, Macho Man and The Von Erichs

cuz there wasnt a demand 4 them yeah okay, anyone have a better answer? why that is the reason. No mass retailer wanted to order the line...so they decided to cancel it. Why produce a line if the retailers aren't going to order and stock them? Instead Jakks decided to add 1 RA Legend figure in their DI line (Sort of like the LJN figures ijn their CS line) It starts with Raven in Series 5 and Terry Taylor in Series 6.
