Cutting weight isn't hard? HAH! That is ing hilarious. You should see how miserable Ricardo Almeida gets when he's cutting. He was reluctant to even go to 170 because of his fear of how the cut will be. He even said after his fight at 111 "The Weight cut was hell". I was with him weeks before that, and trust me. It's hard. Aldo going to 205? There are guys at 205 that are cutting FROM 230-235. Come on, dude. Get real.

where did i mention aldo going to 205? lol. that'd be rediculous. i've seen body builders cut over 15 pounds in less than a day. it's draining, but it is possible. that's all i'm saying. and i do agree with you, i'm just saying theoretically it is possible.

Cutting weight is really not that hard, especially considering Jake Sheilds for example dropped 20 lbs before weight in. Was he dehydrated? definitely. it is possible, maybe not now.. but in the future. Aldo moving up to Light Heavyweight is almost inevitable. okay, yeah it is extremely unlikely. but i'm just saying i'd love to see the fight, as unlikely as it is.
the dream fight of gsp vs silva is unlikely also with okami getting a title shot and then belfort not being too far off. but from interviews gsp has said that if he beats kos, he's ready to take the next step in his career so who knows. i think it's most likely that he'll get jake shields next but i don't know. Light heavyweight = 205lbs

Light heavyweight = 205lbs You obviously knew he meant Lightweight, there's no reason to be an ass just for the sake of it. And if you didn't wow. But as has been said there is no way Aldo would fight GSP. It's a ridiculous statement and shouldn't even be discussed. GSP/Kos will either be fighting Shields or possibly Penn if he beats Fitch next.

yes i am comparing them, in the sense that they both cut weight very quickly.

MMA fighters don't just stand around and pose. The amount of weight they cut is crucial because it can hurt their performance. Body builders can completely dehydrate themselves and it won't mean a damn thing come competition time.

I didn't mean it like that, I watch Pro Wrestling occasionally. What I meant are the Ones that only watch when a big name is fighting or like said above, watch Lesnar because he came from the WWE. Lesnar/Kimbo/Sapp are just hype machines that for the most part attract ignorant fans. I guess I worded it wrong and I probably just worded it worse there.

i honestly don't get where you guys get off being such pricks. even if the guy is completely off on what he thinks/says, is that really an excuse to just be a piece of crap? i'd love to see you guys carry those egos into the real world.
anyways, this is awesome news about the event in toronto. friends of mine who more avidly watch mma are losing it about this, and i may end up going if i'm lucky as i'm sure they'll be. this is sure to be one of the biggest events in mma history to date.

I don't have an ego. I don't have any problem with anyone who is a fan, but my only thing is: know what you're talking about.

well, i'd personally say that you quite apparently do. this thread is not the first case of you thinking you can walk on people. the poster could be just some 14 year old fan. next time, just let him be in his youthful ignorance and keep your bad energy to yourself.
it's sad that someone who is probably the most knowledgeable and informed mma fan here could create healthy, progressive conversation but instead chooses to be a dickhead and probably turn people away from posting on this board and allowing it to flourish.
course, you'll just 'tee hee hee' at that, eh? it's tiresome.

I don't have an ego. I don't have any problem with anyone who is a fan, but my only thing is: know what you're talking about. That's all fine and well, but I've seen guys who want to take part in the discussion, be torn to shreds because his MMA knowlege was a little shabby. Of course it's all how you present what you want to discuss, but no one should be made to feel like they're too stupid to discuss MMA with the rest of us, and I see that time and time again on this board. Now I love posting here, but that's an observation that I've made.

I don't make anyone feel stupid. If I have, I apologize. It's just that people come on here and speak AS IF they knew what they were talking about, and when me or someone else corrects them, we're labeled and "elitist" or an "ass-hole".

try to have more patience. if i'd gotten annoyed at all the threads surrounding a super hero when their movie is coming out in the comic board, i'd never be able to explain to them other comics that exist and allow them to educate themselves on the topic (stopping further ignorance). since we act as a community in the comic board, it is a healthy environment to post in and people feel invited. we still correct people, but we make sure to do so in a non-demeaning and accepting fashion.
just my opinion, not meaning to attack.
