Okay, so my parent's have told me to write a list of what I want for Christmas, if it is I'll only write the headphones since their quiet expensive, I've been thinking of Dre Beats heaphones, are they worth the big price? what seperates them from normal headphones?

I have used them and I'm going to say no, they're not. Unless the volume is painfully high, they sounds like any other head phones. I only noticed a difference when they were turned way the up and there was no distortion, it wasn't getting all bassed out, it still sounded good. That said, after it was that high for 5 seconds I wanted to turn it back down.

it matters the pair..
honestly.. the most expensive pair , is very impressive. they have noise filters... so they block out the outside noise.. sound good on any volume level... BUT again they are very pricey..and this is the only pair i have messed around with.. the music kiosk in the store i work at have these on them...
my wife is getting this pair for xmas too... they WERE on sale on the website.. were like 40% off... so check the website , they still may be on sale ... which makes getting them not hurt sooo much

I would try them out first and see if they fit your liking. If you go to a best buy or something, they most likely have a few panels set up where you can test them (my best buy did).

Which ones are you talking about? You didnt specify. The in ear ones are NOT worth it at all. I bought them and returned them the next day because I was so underwhelmed. For just listening to music, the solo hds are good. But if you want the noise canceling studios, I'd say unless all you listen to is rap, then get the bose QC 15s. They are the same price and much better. My advice is either the $200 solo hds, or the $300 Bose QC 15s.

I really like them. Had my studio's for over a year with no problems. It's a big investment, but I listen to mostly rap music which I think they work best at.

I got mine almost two months ago (the over the ear ones). So far, I love them. Music with lots of bass sound incredible. The noise cancellation is fantastic. The battery life seems good (I haven't had to change them since day one).
My only complaint thus far is that people within a few feet of you can hear your music, especially if you're playing it really loudly.
So, with my experience with them thus far, I'd say yes....they are worth it. However, I do listen to a lot of hip-hop music...and if you don't, then they might not be.
That's my two cents.

Nope. They have a tendency to break easily. You're better off buying a pair of Bose headphones for around the same price and you'll get much better quality. You're just buying the Dr. Dre name when you're getting the Beats.

You're just buying the Dr. Dre name when you're getting the Beats. as does just about anything if not treated with care... as i stated above.. the music koisks where i work have that high end version of these slapped on them.. and yes they both broke.. after a year of abuse by jackass people who didnt treat them worth a damn... so it all matters on how you take care of said item... hell i have clothing from my freshman year in high school... and that was 14 years ago , and its still wearable...

I debated this topic for awhile before Black Friday. My Girl & I got a BB credit card, so I figured I'd give em a whirl.
After about 5-6 listens over the last 3 Weeks, I'm not overly impressed.
I should add - I purchased the white Solo HD headphones for $200.
I thought the regular Beats By Dre that are $300 are too bulky & more for a DJ or just home listening, not as much for on the go, or to bring to the gym like I do.
Yesterday, I gave my $20.00 regular wal mart sony noise eliminating headphones another try, and after not using them for a Month - I gotta say, they almost sound better than the Dre's.
As James said above - your only paying for the name.

My friend has had them for a few months now and I've tried them a few times. I think they are absolutely amazing to be honest.

i dont own a pair but ive listened to them. theyre amazing. but not $400 bucks amazing. for $400 i want the band following me around on a wagon playing their music. but if youre rich or dont plan on paying any bills for that month. then dre beats headphones are the way to go.

I'm getting a pair of Atari Headphones for Christmas for £20. Pretty good price and seem to be just as good as any other pair.

I say get bose ones. They are roughly the same price (depending which type you want) and have the best sound quality out there.
