I think the Rock also had quite a female following - when I talk wrestling to girls I know the Rock is always the first person they mention, often followed by some lame ass Peoples Elbow attempt! That is so true!

I own this from RSC, but haven't seen it in stores.
It's one of those figures I like so much that I want to own it twice!

i guess what i was trying to get at was, besides Sheamus,i , personally, haven't seen a Mattel WWE figure sell out so consistently every time he's put out like The Rock....and i know others haven't found him either...and i was just wondering what everyone;s thoughts on that were...

I went to Target a few weeks back and they had Perfect, Bulldog, and Duggan. I decided to buy a dvd set for someone for Christmas so I went back an hour later after going to best Buy and TRU. They still had the 3 earlier mentioned, plus a complete new set, but NO Rock.
Fortuantely, I found 2 Rocks at Kroger. But it looked Vader had sit on the boxes.

I got lucky on both of my rock finds. When I went to TRU in late October, they were putting out one case of EG, so I grabbed both Rock and Taker. Now every time I go back, they have like 5 takers and no rocks. As for Legends 3, I had gone to toysrus 3 weeks ago during the holiday rush at night. They had no legends 3, so I asked a worker who actually knew something, and he said they stocked everything at closing, and that I should check back at opening. So I went back the next morning like 10 minutes after they opened and voila! I found a fresh case, including the rock! I snagged em all up. So the point is, unless you get there the moment it is laid out, you will not find a rock.

The same reason why his Jakks figures are highly sought after.
They aren't released that often as compared to Cena and when they are, they sell out very fast.

If you don't understand why The Rock figures are so popular I wouldn't believe you watched wrestling in the late 90s.

I've only seen Austin once, and that was at K-Mart the day of the HOF thing. I've never seen Rock excpet for in the Austin/Rock belt pack.

I liked The Rock more than Austin. Not that I didn't or don't like Austin but I thought the Rock was a better wrestler and of course the greatest of all time on the mic. (not taking anything away from Austin he was great in both aspects as well, I just prefer The Rock.) I haven't seen a Stone Cold or The Rock figure in stores yet. (besides some 2 pack with them looky poorly detailed and cheap with a toy IC Title and DVD of a match for the IC between the two.) But if I did I would swoop them both up right away.

The rock is one of the most popular wrestlers ever. It's only natural for his figures to grabbed by those who watched wrestling in the late 90's - early 00's .

The Rock was in the right place and right time to have more fans than anyone else. He started in 1996, right when wrestling was hitting its second stride (the rock and wrestling 80s being its first) so he had a generation of wrestling fans already watching and a new generation just starting. I've been watching since 1981 and he's one of the best I've seen. On top of that, Mattel did a KILLER job on the figure itself.

Well I personally predict that when DM Rock comes out it will likely be easier due to its rather unattractive price of $25 for a single figure...also EG isn't that rare around my area, and I have only seen 1 store carrying L3 right now.

It's plain and simple, The Rock is the man!!! To me he picked up wrestling when it was going downhill with his promos and of course he was a good wrestler!!!

whats crazy about the rock is the price places want for them, now i understand why Ringside sells the rock at a higher price, BUT why the hell is Kmart.com selling the Legends 3 rock for $39.99? a retail store with scalper prices awesome!

I think K-mart.com uses ringside collectibles for their prices. Do they have some joint venture going?
