I don't have any solid info really, but I remember seeing a similiar sized green cage on a crappy lil generic ring with generic figures (for anyone who knows generic figures, if i remember correctly it's the same kind of figures that has the guy who looks like he belongs in KISS) a few years back. I honestly see this cage as this or something similiar, with that toy company copying the Hasbro ring, which would explain it fitting so well. If it was legit we would have heard about it by now.

Thats awesome,i had to always use my WCW ring for cage matches, but that would have been handy.

looking at the scale of this, it could have been from a number of different things. eg i see a lot of package protection that looks similar in work but different sizes. However it does look perfect for a hasbro style cage, though i doubt a prototype would be so refined and machined

It looks great. Congrats on the win! I did bid on it, up high too. Around $30, however retracted my bid since I didn't think it was real from Hasbro. You never know. Hey, if you all want to know if it's a real prototype, why don't we ask Gerry Mead? Opps.. oh never mine ;D

Amazing! I always figured I was the only kid to have used this as a Hasbro cage and it -is- a perfect fit. But what it actually is, is the net from a table ping pong set! It's four pieces that are supposed to fit together lengthwise, but if you, well, miss-assemble it... steel cage!
Edit: Just did a quick search and found out it was manufactured by NERF. (Google image the following phrase: "nerf ping pong" ) That ought to make tracking it down easier for anyone who wants one for their Hasbro rings!
