I noticed this on eBay too. Looks cool and like you say does seem to fit nice going by the picture.
But, isn't the seller just purely guesing at what it is? Very much doubt it's a custom, more likely to be from another ring of some sort, a bootleg one maybe.
Nice pick up anyway.

Didn't the LJN ring have a cage? would that fit?

It's looks like a perfect fit for the ring from the picture and I wonder if the vertical posts are on track with the little molded holes on the ring.
After so many years after Hasbro and LJN stopped producing WWF toys we still find out about something new every once in a while so it's not impossible that it's a cage prototype.
My feeling is that it's an actual cage meant for another ring, like maybe dollar store or thrift store wrestling figures.

I thought it may be a cage to a different ring as well but unfortunately I can't find any pics or info on any other cage. Decent buy none the less. I will post more pics when I get the cage in the mail.

Interesting!!!!!!!! I thought for sure when I read the post it was going to end up being a wcw galoob cage or a wcw cage from the short lived vibrating wrestlers era but this is neither... can't wait to see future pics...

Seems like it could be a prototype for the hasbro ring. Saw it on the bay some time last week.

I'm not sure what to think.
It's an absolute perfect fit. Even the Galoob cage (which it clearly isn't, even repainted) with an extra bracket (which I had-Galoob sent me a replacement ring when my broke too fast) didn't fit this well. It fit since the rings were about the same size, but not like this.
I don't remember any other rings with cages (generic or licensed) that would fit or looked similar. I don't necessarily think it's a prototype since the circumstances seem so weird, but are there customizers who are able to do this type of work with plastic?

nah, this type of work would need to be done on a production scale. at the very least, it's a dollar store bootleg

That's probably the most realistic bet, but with so few bootleg or unlincensed rings and no previous cages known, it's still really mysterious.

especially with the green color that I appear to see. I'd figure maybe blue, black, silver, or even red to match the KOTR, but green?
