I just bought the HIAC RSR several months back, but I always hated how the turnbuckles were cloth. But I noticed you can change the ring skirts, is it worth the $50?

If you've already got the RSR then keep that, the ring posts will eventually lean inwards then go for the ESR which will hopefully have gone down in price.

The ESR is actually too big. I mean the scale is for slightly larger figures than the Mattel ones. Some of the big guys like Kane and Big Show fit alright, but average guys like Triple H look too small against the ropes. However, it's great for displaying a bunch of guys, but for actual ring poses (like whipping against the ropes) the too-large feel looks slightly awkward to me. Actually, the scale looks like it was made for Jakks TNA or UCF. I found my TNA Hogan and UCF Lesnar look just right. But both of those guys are about a big as Big Show.
It just depends on how you'll use it. Anyone disagree/agree with me?

When I had a RSR I would take off one of the posts and lay it in the ring when I wasn't using it. But yes, the ESR is worth it. Best ring I've had.

Anyone disagree/agree with me? i personally disagree.. as i said in an other thread with this ecact question.. 7 wrestlers can stand shoulder to shoulder in an actual ring.. and fit JUST perfect.. same as the ESR... but its different to everyone.. i think its right on scale.. others dont.. i just use it for display , other use it for play ... so it all depends on your space.. your cash... and your want for it...

Size is not really a problem for me. I just want to be able to fit about 6 guys in at the same time.

That was my main problem with the RealScaleRing. The Mattel one fits figures perfectly. Their backs can touch the top rope without them kneeling.

When I first got the ring for Christmas I did think it was way too big, but after using it for a while and doing a few matches in it I got used to it and I think it's pretty good with scale. But to answer the question, yes it is worth every penny, at least I think so. The posts are good and they don't sink in, the mat and skirt are great, and the steps are pretty awesome too. I'd get it if I were you.

I am not a big fan of the size of the ESR compared to the RSR. I mean Mattel figs are slightly smaller than Jakks so it woudl make sense that the ring would shrink a bit as well. I will always go with the RSR.
The post on the ESR are cheap in my opinion. Yes they are more functional and don't pose the embarrassing problems that the RSR had but they are too bulky and fat, made of plastic and have a poor color scheme. I mean the top half is Silver, ring part is black and bottom part black. That is inaccurate could have simply all been the same color. I could nitpick and say that the color scheme is completely outdated as the ring posts and ropes have been white for months now.
The ring canvas is not perfect but it's pretty good. Just doesn't secure well to the ring. The ring skirts being separate from the canvas is a great idea, though they are difficult to put on the ring and are impossible to put on with the turnbuckles on.
The turnbuckles (hooks) are less cool. They are solid and don't tighten and loosen like real turnbuckles so RSR gets a slight point there. But on the other hand the threads of screws can get loose and not having the parts move means it may be a better toy as it is less prone to breaking. The application of the ropes on the turnbuckles is an improvement as that is how ropes are actually on a ring. The turnbuckle covers are no longer cloth which is a bit less nice but this was done in order to make the turnbuckles hold the ropes. I could really nitpick and say that the turnbuckles themselves are no where near as long as they should be.
The ring steps on the ESR are by far superior to the jakks ones. They are perfection.
So there are ups and there are downs. I love the RSR and always will. But the ESR is available and although it has things i dislike, it doesn't have the fatal flaws that some versions of the RSR had.
