I heard Hardy stunk up the joint... "Props go to Jeff Hardy for making the trip to Japan with all the personal issues he has going on right now, but he was far from top form today, and put on arguably the worst match of the night. He faced Tetsuya Naitoh (part of No Limit who were in TNA briefly), but the match never got going, had a couple of botched spots, and there was a "was that it?" feeling in the crowd after it ended. The match may have finished early for some reason as Naitoh didn't even take his t-shirt off (he usually takes it off during one his signature moves), and Jeff did look noticeably exhausted a couple of minutes into the match. Like I say though, props to Jeff for coming to Japan and putting on the show with everything he has going on at the moment." Jeff Hardy defeated Tetsuya Naitoh to retain the TNA Title. As I mentioned, a disappointing match. Never got going. Jeff hit the Whisper in the Wind, Twist of Hate, and finished with the Swanton Bomb. Naitoh did all the heavy lifting before that, and did his best to create some movement, but Jeff didn't have a great day at the office." ProWrestling.net

.... as much as I hoped Jeff would get a chance to go to Japan and show his abilities... he's never been a great independent (literally) worker. TNA has pulled some worth out of him, but without WWE's hectic schedule, he seems like such an effortless waste at the non-eventful shows.
I wonder why Angle didn't go over there.. cool to see RVD pick up a W in NJPW.

I read a couple of reports in reference to Hardy's performance. Sad to hear.
As far as his work rate independently.....I've always enjoyed his work in OMEGA, especially as Willow. Perhaps, he had an off night in Japan.

Was OMEGA brought back after his WWE release in 03-04? because I meant more his time after first WWE departure when he was an absolute mess and his days in TNA were about as bad as any match can get.

Well, I know he did one match for ROH, but the faithful ROH dudes, booed him out of the building, but I don't think OMEGA made a comeback. Showstopper could tell 'ya.

No the incarnation of OMEGA with The Hardys/Thomas Simpson was gone once The Hardys had signed. I believe Thomas tried continuing to run shows under the OMEGA banner, but it fell apart soon after. When Jeff was released, the only indy work he did that I know of is ROH. I rather enjoyed that match to be honest. A very shocking reaction by the ROH faithful. Yet, at the time it was the largest ROH crowd in history.

At the time I was just getting into ROH. In fact, that was one of the reasons I got into ROH. So yes, someone who wasnt very familiar with the product was shocked that a popular name like Jeff Hardy was getting booed at an indy show, considering how many fans came and bought tickets just for him.

Well, in all honesty, I don't know how many ROHs fans would go to ROH for Jeff Hardy.

Yep, they bought tickets just for him. Had nothing to do with the Raven vs. CM Punk bloodfeud, or Samoa Joe's RoH Championship reign going strong, or Paul London's last match. No sir, every RoH fanboy in that arena paid to see Jeff hardy take on a couple jobbers.

i think the jeff hardy brought in some people for the show, surely. because like most indys (usually local, but ROH was growing at that time) they decided to bring in some former wwe talent to get some fans.
but that wasn't the only reason for the nice sized crowd there. the rest of the show from what i've heard, was stacked.

But in your original statement it still makes you sound like you are still shocked at their reaction to Hardy this day. If you wanted to make sure no one got the wrong impression (such as I) you should of stated that.

No sir, every RoH fanboy in that arena paid to see Jeff hardy take on a couple jobbers. You're right it did have nothing to do with that. Watch the dvd and take a look at the crowd. How many teenage girls were there with Jeff Hardy shirts on? Who said ROH fanboys were there to see Jeff? Thats why he got met with a chorus of boos. ROH was just hitting their stride. They were no where near what they are today. I think they drew 1200 fans and I guarantee that they set a record size crowd for ROH b/c of Jeff Hardy. No disrespect to the other workers, as clearly they put on better matches of the night, but lets not be foolish and try and believe that this record size crowd was b/c of Punk or Joe or London.

I'm not some "Jeff Hardy Mark" that saw his name and decided to swing in to just post here. I'm a "Jeff Hardy Mark" that posts here quite often.
