Hi forum readers!!
It has occured to me that, Mattel should never release any figures of Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, or anyone like that, wearing Nexus gear, because every couple of months, the group members change. Slater and Gabriel have left the group just as we get a Slater Mattel with his Nexus armband. Whats the point?

What's the point with making the WM 25 Shawn? Ministry Undertaker?
Before any smarks soil their panties, I'm by no means calling the Nexus "classic" or "legends" but I'm just saying, The Nexus will probably be the high point of most of these guys career(Slater, Sheffield, Tarver, etc.).
I myself would love a fully assembled Mattel Nexus on my shelf, even if they're completely disbanded by the time we can get all members. Hell I even hope for a Cena with a painted on arm-band too.
I was the same way with Evolution when I was younger. I played hell to get my hands on all 4 members, and FINALLY rounded up Batista and Flair. By this time, Batista had already signed the WM contract to face HHH. I still used them as a faction for months.
Same with The Cabinet. By the time I got The Bashams rounded up, they had already quit and the group fell apart, but I still used them collectively with JBL and Jordan for months.
Plus, Nexus figures have technically been in production for a long while now, obviously shown with the Slater/Christian NXT pack. After the formation of Nexus, Mattel just added arm-bands, so I'm sure it's probably a little to late in production to go back and remove the bands from guys like Gabriel, Barrett, etc.

You're only 14 so you don't really know how long it takes to make a figure, its not an overnight process. They were still in the Nexus last week, shirt and all, and its just not possible to change a figure just like that. In saying that, it doesn't mean the figure should be cancelled all together though because to be honest, thats just being stupid.

I was more so wondering whats the point of Nexus elite with them having 3 different nexus shirts already. I for one want painted on Nexus shirts as I see that being the only way we will get them all in nexus shirts. I'd be fine if we got all of them in elite style but honestly they could fill up 2 sets. I'm a moc collector or else I'd get Ralph shirts. Infact I am tempted to get there elites wether they are nexus styles or not just because elite are easy as pie to open and reseal.

It's the same with the Spirit Squad.
After they disbanded and most (except Kenny) went back to FCW, everyone got rid of their Spirit Squad figures.

it's just the way the figs work. everytime we get an up-to-date anything, it's outdated within a couple weeks. It's not just mattel, it was that way with Jakks too. I think they should just do a 6 pack of Nexus figs, or have all of their first figs have the armbands and that's it.

If it bothers anyone that much it would be easy to just acetone off the armband.

I feel your pain snotopjones, I got the Christian/Slater pack in the post today , same thing happened when I got the orange armband Cena and he went and changed it up at Summerslam. But it is wrestling and if they didn't change it up once in a while it'd be boring don't you just miss the days of stone cold and his plain black trunks he wore like forever.

As an earlier post compared it to the Spirit Squad, sure it is similar... But, for those who enjoyed the storyline or group, they may want the figures to represent it. I still have my Spirit Squad figures and don't plan on getting rid of them any time soon. Same with Nexus once I get them. I have customs of them and I love them. Custom shirts and everything... Nexus is my favorite group in a long time. I will run the storyline in my fed for a while to come, and after that, I'll enjoy a nice Nexus display.
In closing, there is definitely a point. Figures can't be accurate at every moment and it is a bummer with the Heath Slater timing/release, but I'm still glad it came out and I still hope Barrett, Gabriel, Sheffield, and Tarver all get their figures too!

As for Slater and Gabriel, I expect them back in Nexus. I think they'll do a run in on the Cena/Punk match next week with the Kendo sticks.

Sure they'll be outdated, but I'm still gonna buy them all, to recreate this moment for my setup...

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens when Nexus ends, maybe a few special box sets on the different versions of the group?

People like to commemorate moments or periods of a superstar's career. Some would like to commemorate when Nexus took over Raw as stated above.

What you can do is remove the band with acetone, and make removable iron-on bands. That easy.

Thats how Mattel makes their money! Its a pattern they won't give us what we want they give it to us when they say so.

It's really easy to do arm switches, so I'm not too concerned.
