I remember it was supposed to come out but there's been no news on it or the Andre. does anyone know if it's being scrapped or if it is coming out when would it be out?

I hate that I have to wait for a year to get this. Luckily I have the Jakks ring (which will do fine until then) and can make an easy Andre Custom to hold me over.

I'm really looking forward to this. I passed on the regular ESR when I heard about this one.

Yes the funny thing is they announced it like a day after I bought the ESR. If they announced it a day or two sooner I'd have held off for this one. Now when I buy it I'll have to pack up the RAW one because I have no room for another ring. lol

I can't wait for this to come out. If I were to guess though,I would bet we see it before the holiday estimate. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it pops up late summer/early fall. Just a gut feeling.

I am thinking of just painting my posts blue and getting a WWF skirt cuz lord knows we wont get a skirt that says "WWF" on it lol

If it doesn't come with a cage, I ain't interested. There's only so many matches you can have in a normal ring.

I think they should make a cage separate like JAKKS did back during the days of the hardcore ring where they had the ring and then the cage separately. I think it would be cheaper and if people think it would be a dumb idea, trust me it's smarter because people will not pay 100+ just for another ESR that they already have with a cage.

I hope Mattel does this. I have the ESR, and I would prefer not purchasing a whole 'nother ring just for the cage. I don't care if the cage is old-school blue/black, new age silver, or even random green! I just want a cage that fits the ESR. Until then, to have cage matches, I have to reset up the old RSR WM 2 Blue Steel Cage Ring. Should take about an hour for me to do, so I'll do it the night before, but it's still a hastle.

I hope between now and then (assuming Fall/Winter 2011) they release a Smackdown ESR.

I still think they should just do rope/apron packs like Jakks used to do, if not in stores, then online or something.

I am sad to say that I am not looking forward to Mattel's rendition of the classic ring. Granted they do make far superior figures for both aesthetic reasons and for playability and they often leave no detail out for their figures but their ring lacks. The Elite scale ring was a sour disappointed for me. Size can be debated and truth is it's a personal preference but the posts are the kicker for me. The fact that they are so chunky, cheep plastic, and are not all one color sours the product. I mean why have the ring post half silver and half black? The turnbuckle pads are kind of on the cheep side as well. I hope they can fix these details and make the classic ring something that truly brings us back.
Now don't get me wrong there are some improvidents over the RSR clearly. The posts seem to be more stable, the turnbuckles are actually used to hold the ropes back, and the turnbuckle covers can be removed to expose the dreaded solid steel turnbuckle hook! And the ring steps are just phenomenal. The hinged base is also a vast improvement. I Just hope they can fix the posts to be more pleasing to my eye.
Either way I will by this ring. If for nothing more than the best Andre the Giant figure ever.
