Does anyone else wish that they included the stubble from the HBK protos like on this one and the Defining Moments proto on the actual figure? I've just got the Elite 7 DX version and it's a stunning figure but I can't help but think if it had that little touch to it then it would have been perfect.

I agree, he looks different without the beard. Wish they kept it on...

Stubble might be nice, but those are both full fledged beards.

The only "perfect head" that Mattel has made of HBK with the accurate stubble is the WM26 figure that was exclusive to TRU. I bought that figure and put the head on my DM1 HBK.

Mattel has trouble with beards nd stubble. That's one of the few things they need work on.

The WM 26 hbk head is really nice, but I don't really consider it perfect. It basically has a 5 oclock shadow look, and even though it's short, Shawn actually has a beard and not just stubble. To me, a thick beard is represented well by a sculpted on deal, like Triple H for the shorter end and Hacksaw Duggan for the longer look. When the beard is painted on, it works best for the very short look. The only thing wrong with those two proto shots is that it perhaps needed to be painted a tad lighter.

The stubble on the WM26 Shawn is perfect. He doesn't have a full beard like Hunter so the stubble works best.

Yep I think you're right, Either way it would have been nice if they had given him some facial hair at least as I don't remember him being clean shaven for quite some time.

They just don't have the facial hair thing down. HBKs "stubble" on his DX 2pack figure was kind of meh. Those beards are too dark in the protos imo so it makes them look way too full. I do like the shadow on the WM26 figure but Mattel still seems to be working out the kinks on it. Hopefully they figure it out before they start making 95/96 versions of him. Not losing any sleep over the DM figure though because, while I bitched at first, when I finally broke down and bought it, it was amazing. I'd rather have a great inaccurate figure than one with a ed up beard, just my preference.
