Jackal was in the trainer’s room, as he landed awkwardly on his foot during his match, and he had one of the biggest grins of all time right on his face. After weeks and weeks of struggling, Chris finally got that one, two, three count he craved. Chris felt like the nightmare was over. Well, that wasn’t the case;
Chris: "So, doc, how is my foot?"
Trainer: "Well, Chris, you took a pretty nasty land on it out there. It’s going to hurt for the next couple of days, but you should take it easy for these couple of days. If you just calmly relax it should feel better and then you should be set for the pay per view."
Chris: Alright, thanks.
Chris then hops of the chair and walks out of the room. He thought to himself he better just go and get to the hotel. When he was walking to his locker room he nearly tripped on a cord, but was able to keep balance.
Chris: Who the hell just leaves cords and wires lying in the middle of the hall way?
Chris then finally gets to his locker room and opens up the door. He changes back into his “Tapout” shirt and a pair of jeans. He starts to pack, but he notices Ace Bennett on screen for his interview. He thinks to himself how that could’ve been him challenging for the National Title on Sunday. He was not happy about that at all. He went to just kick the bench, but he realized he has to watch out for his foot. Chris then just zips up is bag and leaves.

Chris is driving back to the hotel and on his way there and he thinks to himself that he got a win, but that’s it.
“It doesn’t even matter! I didn’t beat a champion, it wasn’t a number one contender’s match, it had no meaning! Now guys like Ace Bennett, they get wins that actually matter. Wins that count. Not just some random win on the start of the show that no one will remember by the time of the main event!”
Chris eventually got tired of this and turned on the radio. He had his iPod plugged in so he just played some Metallica and try to think of something else. He can’t get angry now and possibly injure his foot. He decided to think of puppies, how could you get angry at puppies?

Chris finally pulled up to his hotel and parked as close as he could to the hotel. He unplugged his iPod and put it in his pocket and grabbed his bag. He slammed the car door shut and locked it. Chris then walked into the hotel and realized his room was on the seconded floor.
“Just great,” Chris thought.
The elevator was in use and he didn’t have the patience to wait for it. So he just hopped up the stairs on his right foot. By the time he got up, his right foot was starting to hurt. He was in room 207, so it was right down the hallway and wouldn’t be that far of a walk. There really weren’t too many people out of the in the halls right now and he got an easy walk to his room. As soon as he got in he threw the bag on the bed and turned on the TV. He flipped right to Tyler Perry’s Ring of Payne and he just plopped on the bed.
He wasn’t even looking at the TV and instead he was resting on a bunch of pillows and gazed up at the ceiling. His phone started vibrating in his pocket and he pulled it out. It was a call from Dan and Chris picked it up.
Chris: “Hello?”
Dan: “Hey Chris, I got great news for you!”
Chris: “Well, it definitely could be better than an injured foot.”
Dan: “What?”
Chris: “Eh, I landed awkwardly on my foot in my match.”
Dan: “Oh, I was looking for you after your match, where are you?’
Chris: “Oh, I just headed back to the hotel. Rather just let my foot rest up before the pay per view. I’m probably just going to be in a dark match though. I don’t have anything going on.”
Dan: “Well, that is not so true, Chris.”
Chris: “What are you talking about, Dan?”
Dan: “It was what I was going to tell you until you distracted me with the better than an injured foot thing.”
Chris: “Get on with it, Dan.”
Dan: “Alright Chris, clam down now. I was going to say that management has been impressed with you and another rookie, AJ King. So they decided to put you two in a match at the pay per view.”
Chris: “And……….”
Dan: “And the winner of the match will become number one contender for the national title.”
Chris then showed a giant smile on his face and didn’t say anything. He just thought to himself he finally has a match that means something, a win that will count. He thought to himself:
“The dream is not over, the nightmare is over! I haven’t wasted all these years for nothing. I’ve spent all of these years for something. From all the training to the traveling and to all of the pain he has suffered throughout the years.”
Dan: “Hello? Chris? Chris? You still there?”
Chris: “Uh-uh-uh-uh, yeah, sorry.”
Dan: “What happened to you?“
Chris: “Oh, well, I was just thinking.”
Dan: “Alright, Chris, well, I guess I’ll just talk to you later.”
Dan hangs up and Chris throws his phone back in his pocket. He looks up at the ceiling, and he still can’t believe that he is getting a title match. But then he realized that his foot might be a problem. He thought about how he almost tripped, and he started to get stressed out. He thought how fitting would that be? As soon as he gets his chance to shine, this happens! He starts to stress out a pushes his bag off his bed.
“Why? Why? Why me? What the hell did I ever do? Why? I finally get a damn chance to shine, and this happens? Yet, everyone else gets all these great things? I bet AJ King is one-hundred percent healthy for this! I’m not going to let this slide away from me. I’m just going to have to train on my foot every day and let it get better.”
Chris ended up getting so stressed up about it and he forgot about how the doctor told him to rest for the next couple of days, but then all of a sudden it came to him.
“Wait, I can’t, I just have to rest for the next couple of days, but no, how could I win if I don’t train for days.”
Chris then looked back at the TV and saw Ace Bennett on the screen. It completely changed his mindset;
“No, nothing will stop me from becoming champion. Not my mind, not an injured foot, not the doctors, not AJ King, not Ace Bennett, and not Valorie Evans. I will becoming National Champion, and that is a damn fact!”

OOC: Eh, really was unclear where to go with this one. I thought I'd just play on Chris' anger issues and his self doubting in this one. I'm just glad that I handed something in.
