A static screen is initially shown, shouting can be heard but there’s no picture. Two voices echo, one of them is the easily recognisable Trace Demon, the other less important and therefore unknown. Kinda like that the life story of Phillip Schneider.
Trace Demon: Is it working yet?
Unknown male voice: We’ve got sound but no video.
Trace Demon: I thought you were meant to be some computer genius?
Unknown male voice: No, I do video games design at college.
Trace Demon: So not only are you not a computer genius, but you’re a nerd as well. How did I let Alexa talk me into this?
Unknown male voice: Because I’m her cousin and nobody else wanted to help you.
Trace Demon: Shut up Jason and get the damn camera working.
The screen flickers on and we find ourselves in the office of King Kraig. Instead of the slightly terrifying and stupid face of the illustrious owner however we are treated to the warm friendly figure of Trace Demon, sitting in Kraig’s chair, feet up on Kraig’s desk.
Jason: We’ve got picture.
Trace Demon: Good.
Trace adjusts his posture so that he’s sitting up in the chair, looking all professional and what not. He smiles towards the camera, giving his best impression of a cheesy Tom Cruise like grin. Just, y’know, cooler.
Trace Demon: Welcome my adoring fans, people who like wrestling and random hobo’s who somehow found a way to use the internet. You are watching this because, like me, you realise that in just a few days something very important is going to happen. Something so monumental that it can’t really be understood by anybody who hasn’t been in this situation. In just a few days... Phillip Schneider gets to wrestle me, Trace Demon.
Jason: That sounds a bit arrogant.
Trace Demon: Which is exactly why I didn’t let you write the script.
Trace adjusts himself in the seat, getting back into the zone.
Trace Demon: As I was saying, at whatever stupidly named show we have coming up, it will be Trace Demon facing off against Phillip ‘call me Obo and you’re sued’ Schneider. Yes, that’s rights, he copyrighted his own name so that nobody else could say it. He copyrighted it under the banner of a video game. [Shakes head] And people call me crazy. But before I get off topic and start talking about flying monkeys, ninjas, Alex Sean’s stupid haircut and many other things that nobody cares about...
Jason: What about Yukio Blaze?
Trace Demon: I left him out, just seemed too easy... but before we get off topic, lets get talking about what people really care about... Me. Now I’m not vain, arrogant or obnoxious, I’ll leave that to DGX, but I’m pretty damn important if I do say so myself... and I don’t, everybody else says it for me. This is exactly why this match against Ob... Phillip Schneider is such an important milestone in the history of Trace Demon. Let me cast your mind back.
The camera changes its focus and turns to look at a television screen. On it we are shown a very early match in the career of Trace Demon...

Date: 30th June 2007
Event: ‘They All Got Slayed’ (House Show)
Match: WFWF World Heavyweight Champion Obo vs. Trace Demon
Trace Demon won the right by facing Obo by winning a very brutal gauntlet match, in which he got his biggest win by defeating Justin Tyme, but in this match he gave Obo a run for his money. Obo tried to finish off Trace very early with the Nail Biter Yakuza Kick, but Trace countered it into a dragon whip kick to Obo. Trace then tried to perform a standing moonsault, but Obo moved out of the way and then applied a cradle, 1...2....kickout. Obo hopped to his feet and so did Trace, but Obo ran at Trace and gave him a running STO that took him down. Obo then dragged Trace to one of the corners and set him into the tree of woe position. Obo then climbed the ropes, came off and gave Trace his version of the mushroom stomp, the Rise Of The Dead and Trace buckled to the mat and it allowed Obo to get the pinfall and win.
Winner by Pinfall, Obo

Trace Demon: And that was that. My first encounter with a man who claims to be the most hardcore son of a b**ch you will ever meet. I turned up, I fought my hardest, and I lost.
Trace Demon looks down at the desk contemplatively, clearly remembering the loss with bitter regret, showing the versatility that would be welcome in Hollywood anytime.
Trace Demon: Yes, Trace Demon lost to the man who now calls himself Phillip Schneider. The same man who I will face off against in just a few days took me out and he did it quickly. But that was then. That was three and a half years ago. A lot of time has passed since then, a lot of things have happened. Some I’m not proud of, some I am, but they all happened, and they all had a part to play in making me the handsome devil I am today.
Jason: But surely if you lost to Schneider once it could happen again?
Trace Demon: I’m glad you said that...
Jason: You told me to say it.
Trace Demon: Don’t be stupid. You see, when we last clashed it was because I was a young rookie who just so happened to get very lucky and defeat Justin Thyme to gain a shot at the WFWF World Champion, who just so happened to be a veteran who thrived in beating his opponent to a pulp in all kinds of disgusting and perverted ways.
Jason: Kind of like a perverted dominatrix.
Trace Demon’s expression turns to one of horror as he stares at the cameraman in shock and disdain. He shakes his head in disbelief before shaking it off like the professional he is.
Trace Demon: But that’s all he was. And that’s still all he is. He has attempted to reinvent himself into some kind of MMA master, but when you face the facts Phillip Schneider is nothing more than he was three and a half years ago. He hasn’t improved, he hasn’t adapted, he hasn’t evolved. He’s remained static. He is the exact same man that I fought all those years ago. And while that was more than good enough to take out a Trace Demon who has only wrestled three matches in his entire career that’s not who he is facing this time around.
Trace puts his feet up on the desk, looking relaxed. In the process he kicks over King Kraig’s “world’s best boss” mug. Hopefully he won’t notice.
Trace Demon: I am not the same guy who believed his ‘secret past’ to be something ripped straight from a comic book. I am not the same guy who’s drugged up delusions revolved around secret government conspiracies, religious orders or terrorist organisations. That was the past, that was what Phillip Schneider was capable of beating back in 2007 but sorry to break this to you Schneider – times change. While you’ve been off doing whatever it is that sick psycho’s whose only knowledge of wrestling revolves around hitting people with chairs do I’ve been growing, I’ve been improving, I’ve been making a name for myself.
Trace pauses, grins, and looks more focused than he has during this video so far.
Trace Demon: In short, I’ve been taking over your spot. When people think of Phillip Schneider they think of a man who could go to the extreme, who go take anybody out as long as he had some kind of object at hand with which to hit them with. When people think of Phillip Schneider they think of a man who is dangerous because he doesn’t care about anybody or anything. In short, they think about a sociopath.
Trace stops, seems to ponder something as he taps one of King Kraig’s pens on the desk.
Trace Demon: Now let’s flip the script.
Swiftly Trace throws the pen across the room, almost as if he wasn’t even paying attention to it.
Trace Demon: When people think about Trace Demon they think about a rookie who has risen to the top of his game, who has overcome every obstacle in his way no matter what it was. When people think of Trace Demon they think of a man who in just three years won the WFWF National Champion, the WFWF Tag Team Championship and the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship. They think of the 2009 Survival of the Fittest Winner and a former owner of the WFWF. In short, they think about the man who Phillip Schneider wishes he could be the shadow off.
Jason: Isn’t that a bit...
A glare cuts the cameraman off immediately. Trace is focused now, he has something to say and nothing is going to stop him.
Trace Demon: Schneider, you are going to step into that ring with a completely different man that the one you wrestled back in 2007. You can say whatever you want about being a psycho, about being able to beat up anybody within an inch of their life, because when we step into that ring I’m going to wrestle rings around you, I’m going to break your arms so there can be no brawling, I’m going to hurt you so bad you won’t even be able to lift a weapon, and then... only then... will I lock in a submission move that I will damn well make sure you not only tap out to, but that you pass out in.
Trace stands up from the desk, slamming a hand down hard knocking over numerous pieces of well laid out paperwork.
Trace Demon: And you won’t be waking up again.
Trace Demon stares at the camera before signalling to the camera man. The last shot being that off Trace Demon’s grin, fixated on the screen, as we fade to black.
