at TRU Basics- $11.99 2 Packs- $18.99 It's only a matter of time before Legends jump to $15.99 too I'm sure. Way to go Mattel & TRU, they are going to make it nearly impossible to collect WWE figures...or they are going to drive all their customers away to Target & Walmart. Seriously...$13.00 (after taxes) for a BASIC FIGURE? ? with no stands.

Figures in the US were (and still are) cheap. In Germany we have to pay 14,99€ for a Basic figure which equals $20,48!!!

This isn't a Mattel issue. It's a TRU problem. If Mattel was raising prices it would be across the board. I don't know if Mattel can talk with TRU to stop the price raises, but it doesn't bother me much as my TRU is way behind on WWE merchandise.

Well, I can't imagine them losing money or anything, Mattel sells like hot cakes around here, so I don't get it, but I am ok with it as long as they keep up the superb quality. Now if Jakks raised their price...

I was just at TRU last night and the prices were the exact same as they were when Mattel first started the WWE line.

Legends are already 15something at my Walmart....basics, elites and 2-packs are still a few cents cheaper than the standard 9.99/14.99/17.99 prices.
Weird how only Legends went up at my Walmart. And they aren't selling at all either.

I think maybe Toys R Us is hurting a little so they had to increase prices.People aren't spending as much money so they jack prices up to get the money.

TRU is jacking prices on everything. The McFarlane SPs used to be 11.99 at the highest. Now I seen places at $14.99 and $16.49!!!

Mattel announced price increases a few weeks ago. The truth is that manufacturing costs worldwide are indeed rising and you can only rely on the advanatge of foreign lower labor costs for so much.
TRU and other retailers are feeling the brunt of an increase in everything from utilities, fuel etc. Plus, they need to maintain the margins they predicted for their shareholders. It's nothing personal toward collectors, just basic business. However it does suck for us as collectors, trying to maintain and grow a collection.

That makes no sense... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demandIf their revenue stream was really hurting, they'd lower prices slightly to encourage more business. Raising prices doesn't help at all.

Better then what we pay here in NYC. Basics are 12.49. Legends and Elites are 17.49. I don't remember what 2 packs were but I do know DM was 28.99.

I was just at TRU last night and the prices were the exact same as they were when Mattel first started the WWE line. perhaps they haven't changed their peg tags? last week I went to buy a Basic 6 Edge from TRU...the peg tag said $10.99, but the figure rang up $11.99 I promptly asked the cashier to cancel the transaction and went on my way (as I wasn't going to pay $13.00 for an outdated attire Edge).

i just believe it depends where u live. being that i live in NJ, the price is still at 10.99 or so. but my cuzo who lives in the city(NY) gali. he gets burnt with the pricest, thats why when his fams comes over they stock up on many things before going back to the city.

I used to love my local TRU, but with the terrible selection and jacked up prices, I could really care less if the place closed.

Damn, that's just stupid. It seems like every year figures go up $1. That's pretty dumb. $12+ tax is rediculous for a ing toy. Seriously? That's just a basic-ass figure that's not unique. I'm tell you, Elite is where it's at as far as detail. We pay a bit more, but I'd rather pay $15 for a PERFECT figure, then $13 for a mediocre figure with no accessories and a plain attire, no color tats, limited articulation, and poor variety (top heavy talent lineups)

TRU is the worst place to by Mattel figures imo. It seems K mart is like the best place oddly enough. Walmart and Target tied for second. It's weird because TRU was always the best place in the past. Prices have really gotten out of control. What ever happened to the cheaper something is the more you sell? Whatever.

as long as Target, KMart, Walmart and Ringside don't go up any higher than I'm okay with that because TRU absolutely sucks, the only Mattels I've bought at TRU since its release have been the WM Exclusives everything else is always about a month or 2 late, some series I've never even seen at TRU to be honest

the price is cheap, here at puerto rico, at walmart the 2 pack are at $21.00, legends at $18.99 and elite at $17.98 and on Kmart 2 pack are at $22.49 legends at $18.00 and elite at $17.00. The best thing is tht the basic are at $10.98 at walmart.

That's why I don't shop TRU anymore unless it's an exclusive and I just order it online. I can't remember the last time I actually went into a TRU.
