K so WWE has talent but why are they toning it down? For example Gail Kim in her tna career was amazing. She had a move set like no other diva but in wwe she doesnt do much in the ring at all. Another example is RVD in ECW original days he would do high flying moves that werent ever seen but in wwe he wouldnt do them. Basically Im just wondering is this a choice made by the talent or by wwe? IMO I think they have a lot of talent but just arent letting them work their styles.

A lot happened after the broken neck days when Rhyno, Edge, Benoit, and a few others went down along with Kidman's botched shooting star press on Chavo. They "banned" some moves like the piledriver. Its toned down to help keep talent healthy

Because you have to learn to "work the WWE style" which basically means dont upstage Triple H.

Yeah, on one hand I understand the "WWE style" thing for insurance and health reasons but on the other hand I think about the no limits cruiserweight and x-division and wonder why WWE robs their fans of this type of show. Although, Brock Lesnar tried to push the envelope at WM and he is lucky he didn't die in the middle of the ring from a broken neck. You look at the TLC and ladder matches from the Attitude Era and those types of matches put asses in the seats. They just happened to be dangerous as all hell for the wrestlers. I miss the piledriver, I want to see CM Punk hit the Pepsi Plunge on WWE TV, and why would you hold down a guy like Kaval or Daniel Bryan for the sake of saving face? It might be cliche at this point but jobbers like Evan Bourne would outperform guys like John Cena every day of the week. Shawn Michaels climbed to the top of WWF in the mid 90s, and really as a Rocker, by being the only guy in WWF doing the types of things he was doing in the ring. It's almost frustrating at times how mechanical a lot of guys are now. A number of guys that come out of FCW have the same ing movesets. That is why when guys like Drew McIntyre and Alex Riley come up there is a level of frustration. Not because those guys can't be entertaining but because you know the type of style they are going to work. WWE just limits these guys, and probably for good reason, but it has made the product weaker imo.

I agree with your statement up until you said "basically means don't upstage Triple H." That's dumb. WWE is known for a certain style, and it's basically either a fit in or get out kind of thing.

The same also goes for people like Jericho who is in fact capable of so much more.
Paul London addressed it in a recent interview at UK's Power Slam mag. He was the cruiserweight champ at that time and wanted to use the shooting star press. He went to Vince McMahon who basically refused him and asked him who the hell did he think he was?
Fascinating article.
Yeah, u have to get into the WWE style or get out.

I really wish that these people could do what they can do. Daniel Bryan has great matches in the WWE for example, then you watch one of his ROH matches and it's simply amazing. But I do like how they care for the Wrestler's health and all, but let them show the world their talent.

A lot of the divas couldn't keep up with Gail, so that explains her situation

They probably also don't want people to shine too bright.
I mean imagine if Daniel Bryan was allowed to do whatever he wanted... he would make people like Cena look terrible... and that's not good for sales.
