Im having this kind of feeling lately started getting bored over the Basic Figures particulary because of the limited articulations which prevent from making more poses and thats why im slowly losing the interest to get more. Eventually, I stopped at B5.
The only reason i will buy Basic is that wrestlers like Hurricane, Mike Knox, Shelton Benjamin, Tommy dreamer, Khali, etc wrestlers that will not make it into Elite series.
So how boring are Basic figs to you?

I agree with you. The leg articulation back and forth is extremely limited and the figure is always standing straight together, not even in a stance of sorts. They're not functional to play with or even pose with for that matter (unless you want them to all be posed the exact same way, standing up straight). Their center of gravity is also pretty lame, which makes them fall over easily, especially since Mattel has done away with the stands. Everything else is decent on Basic figures, the paint deco is great and the sculpts are generally improving. I honestly would wish for all figure be made in the Elite style, so Basics would come with only a figure and the "Elite" would come with the figure and 1+ quality accessories.

I don't really care for the Basic figures. The only Basic figures i bought were 1 of 1000's and i keep them moc.

Another issue is that some figures like Basic Edge, Ezekial, Kane with their legs being way too close together.

Personally, I very much prefer the Basic articulation. I also like the fact that the attires get updated much quicker. Plus they stand so much better than Elites do. I also prefer the smoother look to the Basic torsos. The torso & thigh joints on Elites are kinda an eye sore to me.
So I guess I don't find them boring at all.
I still buy a lot of the elite so I can swap heads or steal the accessories to add to my Basic torsos. Example is I bought Drew, Edge, & Taker from Elite 8 just for their scans. Bourne & Sheamus are on their way also.

Basics and their lack of articulation are way to boring for me. I like my wrestling figures to be highly playable, and the basic figures with their general immovability are not. The Elite style on the other hand I like quite a bit and I'm glad they did the Legends in this style too.

Of course the elite style isn't keeping me from getting the Legends figs but when it comes to the main roster I'm almost 100% basic. The only elites I have in my main roster are Goldust and Ziggler. But Dolph will be replaced once I get the series 10 fig. The only reason I won't update the Goldust is because with the robe on you can't tell it's an elite. So he's probably the only elite figure I'll keep in my main roster.

Another issue is that some figures like Basic Edge, Ezekial, Kane with their legs being way too close together. That's my main issue with all of the Edge , Kane and Taker Figures they have released with the basic body style ... the legs are far to close together. I don't think basic is boring at all tbh i love them for fig fedding. Elites are much nicer to display obviously though

I'd tend to agree with most of the criticisms here. I think it's definitely on a figure to figure basis. So far I think the Christian from the 2-Pack with Heath Slater is the best one made so far and I can't wait for the Daniel Bryan figure, but I've been back and forth with most of the others for these same reasons.
I'd say at least they've improved on packaging them. One of the worst basic figure issues was the plastic bending incorrectly because of the way it was packaged. If you picked up Pay Per View 3 Punk I hope you got a good one, because I haven't been able to get ahold of one that doesn't have goofy, bent legs.
At the end of the day, though, I'd say Basics are improving on a level quicker than Elites are. I've seen good figures in both lines, but the scans in basics have been speaking to me more than the scans in Elites.

Lately it feels like there are only 1 or 2 basic figures per series that are a must have and the 2 pack haven't been too exciting either. I hope there are more new headsculpts like series 10 HHH coming up.

Hopefully mattel will come out some sort of new idea or some adds on for Basic figure like a Belt or Weapon.

I personally don't care for the Elite style myself. I think with all of the articulation, they come off as cartoonish. I am a display only collector though.

I buy Legends but I wish they were basic.

I don't own any Elite yet but plan on picking them up do to the fact that I can use them as figures that will bend and be functional in doing moves since the basics are very limited. I have the Legacy 3 pack set from K-Mart and the most moves these guys can do are DDT's suplexs and the RKO... So I am looking forward to getting a few of these elites and giving them a go.

I collect both, but if I had to trade some of my basics for there Elite counterparts I wouldn't hesitate.

Although when I started collecting mattel's I prefered elites alot more but now I buy more basics and not as many elites except one that just look plain awesome, have a great headscan or have a title belt or accessory I want and it's worth the money. Basics just seem easier to find and easier to spend money on since they're cheaper. They get updated more and I have more of a choice on deco and what not. Elite's are of course superior in detail and articulation so dont get me wrong.

I Like Elites Way Better, i Will have one Basic (eg undertaker) and only one, Theres no movement to them, Basics are like my sisters Barbies. Seriously, look at a barbie, same thing as basic figures, Im not exaggerating either, same deal ... they can sit down and have a tea party or stand straight but if you want to give someone sweet chin music or 90% of any other wrestling moves, good luck.... Elites are Action Figures, Basics are good for display.
i prefer elites anyday... Thank you mattel for making legends elite style... I Like posing my figures in wrestling moves, Same deal with R.A , every pose just looked awkward, i dont mean to bash as i know some people love basics but i cant stand them, they even look stiff to me
