I had never ran into QC problems with Mattel until recently. I got a Legends 2pk Piper for parts, and the left arm was glued into place. No matter how long I let the thing sit in hot water, it wouldn't budge. After more and more heating up, the thing just snapped right off when I tried to move it.
I also have a Legends Dusty doing the same thing on the legs. I heat them up, they move find, and then go back to being stuck.
I will say, it seems the latest Elite series has smooth movement in their parts. The legs move better than any other Elite figures I've worked on. And it isn't just one, I've used several E8 guys, and the parts move well.

I heated them and moved the legs, but then they went back to being stuck. I did the heat trick again, but this time I placed them in a sitting position. This time after they had been sitting and cooled the legs worked fine.

I haven't really run into any quality control problems with Mattel. The only figures that have really had any joint problems have been my Basic 7 Sheamus having a slightly loose arm, and then there's my Legends 4 Ultimate Warrior. The legs on that figure barely move outward. They're like Basic legs to me, and I'monly able to really move them back and forth. The rest of the joints are fine, but the legs don't extend outward at all.

What he's complaining about is quality control, not price in general.

I don't really understand what is wrong with your figure. Is the detail missing? The kickpads not on? Is it a repackaged undertaker figure? I've had a couple of issues, the latest with a rick rude who's left leg is breaking off because the joint is stuck and is taking the bar with it. Eventually it will break.

Have you seen any pics of the figure? The Elite 8 Edge is supposed to have the star and stripe logo on the right kickpad and the skull logo on the left kickpad. GIVE US PUNK!!!!! got an Edge with both kickpads having that star and stripe logo, which he kept because he thought it was neat (I would probably do the same thing) but he ordered another one hoping it would be how it was supposed to be. (different logos) Upon getting the new Elite 8 Edge, he got the same error that he got before. That's what is wrong with his figure, it's a paint error.

What he's complaining about is quality control, not price in general. I'm not talking about price. I'm talking about the risk you take of ordering online. You have no idea what the figure will look like before you get it. So the paint could be wrong and you wouldn't know it until you got it and already paid for it. If you get it in the store you can see if there is something wrong with it.

Getting the same paint error twice is really bad luck. If that figure was bought in a store you might not have seen the error because I think the coat covers the boots. I can't remember because I opened mine. But at least he would have the receipt and could complain to the store.

I bought a WM Heritage Punk, and couldn't figure out at first why he had the same tats on both arms. Then I realized he had two left arms!
And the Mr Perfect I ordered from TRU didn't come with a towel.
