Any fans? I've been watching a lot of WWF matches and ppvs from 1997 lately and it has to be one of my favorite years in WWF history. So many great feuds and the transition into the Attitude era was so awesome to witness as each week of Monday Night Raw progressed. Also, you can't forget the numerous great stables running wild in the federation from the new Hart Foundation to the Nation to DX to Los Boricuas! Well, maybe not Los Boricuas. So, anyone else fans of the year of 1997 in WWF history? And, what are some of your favorite WWF memories from that year?

Hell yeah. While I didn't watch WWF in 1997 (Started in 1998/1999) I am watching every RAW so far until about May, and have seen every PPV so I really love 1997.

Damn Straight. That year was my favorite year out of all the years I've watched which started around 1992. Yes, I put it above all those "great" attitude years and the early 2000's. Raw was beast leading into WM and beyond.

I began watching the tail end of 1996 so I was fortunate to witness the entire year of 1997 and to this day, 1997 is STILL by far my favorite year of wrestling. It had the awesome beginnings of the attitude era with a more crud and edgy show yet it wasn't quite ALL storyline yet, still lots of great wrestling. It was the perfect mix, the perfect year.

I started watch the WWF right after the screw job, so I missed most of the year. I was a WCW kid until then, but once I started with the WWF it was all I cared about wrestling wise.

I started back again in wrestling in early 1999 and so I missed out on WWF in 95,96,97,98. Ive watched a lot of the shows from 1997 - and damn were they good!! The consistent heat between Austin/bret & hart foundation and then the real enmity between HBK & bret spilling out onto raw was awesome. the nation of domination was pretty fun to watch especially rocky maivia who the fans loved to hate as was the birth of DX with rick rude as the insurance policy guy lol. Who can forget mankind slowly began becoming a face and introduced us to cactus jack and dude love (him being austin's tag partner was hillarious). Undertaker was definitely at his peak in 97 - giving his all every time and making some memorable matches. Hey, we also saw the sadistic paul bearer introduce Kane to the world - which I feel was a huge coup for the WWF as it added a new dimension to their product. We had the emergence of Ken Shamrock who made his debut in the same year and who can forget the montreal screwjob - was an eventful year for the WWE. For the first time we saw a cunning and manipulative side of Vince mcmahon when he said the famous line: "bret screwed bret!" For the first time at bad blood we saw the hell in the cell - seeing shawn take those bumps was crazy! SCSA was pretty much becoming the "badass face" and the fans loved him - a man who didnt listen to no-one and did what he wanted. Just an all round awesome year!!

Back in 1997, I'd mainly watch Nitro, but I've since gotten the entire 1997 year of RAW, and I have to say, it was a lot better then what WCW was doing. They had so many great matches and feud that year. The Hart Foundation coming back, Bret Hart turning heel, Shawn Michaels-Undertaker feud was great, Hart Foundation-Austin feud was great, looking back at it now, I wish I'd watch WWF more back then. Almost every WWF PPV they had was great, while WCW was so-so when it came to PPV events. All and all, and say WWF was a lot more entertaining then WCW, and plus towards the middle or end of 1997 the nWo angle was getting so old and boring, it was like the same thing every week with the nWo.

I was a bigger WCW fan back then but I started watching more WWF around March/April 1997.
- Hart Foundation
- Austin
- Undertaker/Kane
- DX
- Return of LOD
That was an awesome year.

to me, 93-mid99 was my favorite. Thats where I started watching (first thing I ever saw was the first RAW). To me, after DX broke up (WM15) it went downhill. Sure I still like HHH but it just wasnt the same. And to me, it seemed Austin lost his flair after WM15

I miss those days so much. I became a fan in fall of 1997. I was in first grade and they were building for the first ever Hell in a Cell. I loved Undertaker, I used to draw pictures of him beating up Shawn Michaels. Me and the kids in my class used to call ourselves wrestling names. A few of us even formed DX at recess. 1997-2000 was the best time wrestling has ever seen.

I like watching Raw is War matches from early '97 because you can see the set slowly turning into what it is today.
