I LOVE the Elite figures... I have every one so far (up to S8) and along with the Legends, they're my favorite wrestling figures. But I am a bit disappointed in the Series 9 and 10 line-ups:
Zack Ryder, Luke Gallows and the new Miz look awesome - but Orton, Kofi and MVP look very similar to their first figures... Similarly, Yoshi from S10 looks great - but we're getting another Big Show, Jo Mo, Kane, R-Truth, Ted Dibiase... at this price-point, I'd prefer guys that haven't been done in Elite form yet - like Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, Great Khali, Chris Masters, Ezekiel Jackson, and other Corre/Nexus guys...
Any thoughts...?

I agree 100%. I also think that mattel has set the bar so high that we expect nothing but perfection. So when we get repaints or guys who are not even with the wwe, we get dissapointed.

I think the Elite line needs to start featuring more and more debut Elite figures. Guys like masters need Elites.

I think they're really good line-ups coming up. Most people have already been made so you have to have popular people being made. You can't have just a full line-up of new people or heels because those would rot a slow death on the pegs.

I don't like when the release guys who are no longer with WWE. They do nothing but shelf warm enless its a popular guy.

They do need more variety as far as figures go but here are some thoughts. The belts need to be made more available and I really don't think Khali needs an Elite figure. He is too big and stiff to warrant an elite figure unless they put Rajin Singh as his "extra".

I'm sure we'll see Daniel Bryan, Wade, Del Rio, and the other 2010 guys at SDCC this year. Maybe even a modern Bret Hart, since they weren't able to cut a deal with him until later on. And hopefully a Dashing Cody Rhodes w/ mirror jacket.
At the very least, the repaints are warranted. Ted Jr was previously in his Legacy attire, Big Show has a molded two-strap singlet, with two tag titles AND a t-shirt (which is just an incredible deal), and a few of the other guys at least make sense to do repaints of, like Kane in his WM26 attire. Kane and Morrison were good sellers, and the Elite line needs good sellers to pad out the more risky ones.
I'm actually really excited to see which Elite figures will close out the year. I have a feeling they'll be more along the lines of what you'd hope to see in a line-up.

I'm satisfied with the lineups. As long as they're not total re-releases, I'm down with it. I might not buy them, but straight re-releases are unacceptable.

Yeah, I dont mind re-releases...but atleast change the head sculpt for elites when they are re-released. Big Show, JoMo, RKO, and Kofi got new heads at least that were different from their first elites, but R-Truth/Dibiase didn't?

They are not all that exciting, but they're really good figures.

An elite series that was just Nexus/Corre guys would be a disaster. The Legends line had to be drastically scaled back because Mattel had tried to appeal to a few hardcore collectors instead of making figures that appeal to the average buyer. That approach never works. They can't just load up every elite series with new/obscure wrestlers. Bryan and Alberto will definitely get elite figures. I'd say Slater and Gabriel will, too. For the rest of Nexus/Corre, and guys like Masters and Hawkins, it's a possibility but probably not a very wise choice.

R-Truth, Ted & Kane are total re-paints with know new head. Big disapointment the accessories are the selling point for Kane and Ted.
If you have R-Truth already theres no point with this one.
Hopefully Elite 11 has new face's.

I disagree. I'm not a completist with the modern roster, because I'm not a fan of most of the guys in the WWE nowadays so I just get the guys I enjoy watching. Orton has an awesome new scan Miz looks great
The rest of Series 9 I could care less about. I do like the figures, but I don't like the wrestlers so they are an easy pass especially at $15, Hell most of them I'd pass on their Basic figure as well unless they are packed with someone I like. (I got a Basic Gallows, because he was with the Punk I wanted)
As for Series 10 the only ones I am interested in are - DiBiase, Big Show & maybe Morrison as they are upgrades of their first figures.
And of course we will get repaints & rereleases (Best of) because they are toys and reguadless if the collectors are thought of for this line at the end of the day they are still toys meant for kids. So they are going to put out repaints for the simple fact it's cost effective and there's still a consumer out there for them. Just because you may have them already there are plenty of new collectors/kids who are just getting into the lines that don't...So of course Mattel is going to target them as well.

I don't necessarily agree, but I do think we need some kind of line that gives us Legends & Elite repaints with out taking up space in the main lines. Something like the All Stars 2pks but single carded.
