...Hi, just wondered if anyone's heard anything regarding the chances of getting Sin Cara or Cody Rhodes in his hooded jacket & mask this year? It'd be nice to see Mattel move a bit quickly on them... ;D

the process from a superstar debut to a figure is something like 6 months. even if they are going as fast as possible. that's not mattel being slow, it's just reality.
and it's virtually the same with cody too, cos his new look would require a new mould.

i think it's safe to say sin cara is already in the works, considering how fast they've been pushing his merch.

Also, I'd assume Sin Cara didn't even require a face scan since his mask completely covers his face. It's just be a case of sculpting the design of his mask. Quick process. I'm hoping we get him around August.

We haven't even got Dashing Cody Rhodes yet. The only way they're going to be able to do Cody's new gimmick this year is in the WM27 series, or another PPV series towards the end of the year (they prioritize those sets ahead of the normal lines). But that's just his attire, no jacket or mask. To put it this way, they only got to Edge in his 1-stripe attire in the main lines recently, which he debuted in January of 2010.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if we didn't get Sin Cara sooner than later.
With Rhodes I'd guess that we'd get a Dashing version first before getting his current gimmick and by the time we get his current gimmick he'll probably have something entirely different

Also, I'd assume Sin Cara didn't even require a face scan since his mask completely covers his face. It's just be a case of sculpting the design of his mask. Quick process. I'm hoping we get him around August. the difference between (a) scanning him, tidying up the 3d output and making a mould -or- (b) sculpting the mask from scratch and making a mould, isn't going to be much. the scan takes time to arrange, but would require less sculpting work than doing it from scratch. it probably equals out about the same. granted, the head sculpting process would be slightly quicker with sin cara than a non-masked superstar, but the head sculpting process is only a small part of the many steps needed to create a figure. i wouldn't expect the sin cara figure to come out any quicker than any other debut figure mattel makes. saying that though, august/september is probably a reasonable date to expect him i guess, since he signed in january and made his debut in march. depends when mattel started work on his figure.

We're getting the Dashing Cody Rhodes in 2P11. We'll probably get the new gimmick Rhodes in the WM27 Series. Cara like mentioned, probably doesn't need a scan and is already in the works. By the end of the year we'll get them.

I think there's a great chance we could see a Grotesque Cody with mask in the elite series by this time next year. I guess it just depends on how long it lasts and whether WWE says "too late, scrap it" like they did with the masked CM Punk.

"Creepy" Cody Rhodes LOL! Would love any type of Cody figure they bring out to be honest whether it be an Elite with the 'Dashing' gimmick or in 'Un Dashing' mode

i can see an elite cody with a removable mask. Once I get some money I'm gonna do a fixup and make my own. I'm gonna use the Elite 3 Cody, 2 pack 8 head, and a taped fist hand. I'll get rid of the design on the back of his trunks and maybe his socks.

I want an Elite Cody with the jacket and mask. my luck it will finally come out and he'll be onto another gimmick. maybe Ralph will hook us up with the jacket?

I'd imagine the figure process with Sin Cara will move a little faster than most since WWE will be eager to push his merch, but I could be wrong.

Even though it takes 6-8 months for a new debuting star to get a figure my gut tells me WWE is pushing hard to get Sin Cara's figure out in maybe 3 months, should be interesting to see as Sin Cara appears to be Triple H's Golden Child

I'd love to see both figures done soon in the near future, but like some people have mention, I would also prefer to have a "Dashing" Cody first with the mirror jacket.

We might get that version of Cody, this year. The Sin Cara will probably happen sometime next year.
