When WWE All Stars was coming out and i heard they were doing figures to go along with the game my initial thought was gee, i hope they are hasbro style. . . .meaning figures like the old hasbro obviously not under hasbor's name as they are a seperate company all together, but figures that were the same height and design as the hasbros
Towards the end of the Classic Superstars line, Jakks started to include Chaser LJN figures of more modern superstars. This got me thinking, wow it would be totally incredible if Mattel decided to either start a hasbro figure line, or starting putting hasbro chasers in different sets. It seems like hasbros have a special place, especially in older collectors hearts as -they- are the WWF figures we grew up with.
So, two questions : 1.what do you think? Would you like to see Mattel attempt this? It seems like they have a good grasp on what the consumer wants for the most part i feel like they'd do a good job. 2. What would the first line of Mattel=Hasbros have to include in your opinion?

I would make them look like the Rumblers, be the same size as WWF Hasbros, and have similar action features to Flex Force.
They would be a lot more appealing than Flex Force at least.

I would love a new take on the Hasbro style. It's been asked and suggested several times since Mattel took over the line. I think it was asked to the product head during one of the early Q&A's and he said they were focusing on new things. I think Rumblers is as close as we're going to get to something resembling the old Hasbros (cartoony proportions, stylized likenesses).

No way. Hasbro figures were good back in the day but nowadays they are completely outdated as an action figure style. The Legends line is struggling as it is, without additional gambles like this. I'm only interested in action figures to modern standards of realism and using modern techniques.
I felt the same about the Jakks LJN figures - which by the way SHELFWARMED TERRIBLY - they should have put the extra effort and money into the regular CS figures. Without the LJN monstrosities we might have got a few more accessories and new headsculpts instead. Plus the concept was ruined anyway since they were a different scale and much poorer sculpts than the original LJNs.
Throwback styled figures are a "neat idea" - yes. But it shouldn't be taken any further than a nostalgic bit of fantasy. The cost to make the new moulds would be far greater than any potential sales, from what would be an extremely small niche market.
If you want Hasbro's, get the originals or get Rumblers. The Legends line needs much more established and profitable ideas than this.

I have a feeling this might get moved to the Suggestion Board.
The first line-up would probably include:
John Cena Randy Orton Rey Mysterio CM Punk The Undertaker Triple H

It's a funny old game. We have another thread on the board where people are complaining that they make figures with action features and limited articulation, and here we have a thread where people are asking for more figures with action features and limited articulation.
I think there are probably very few people who'd be interested -- sure there are maybe fifty or a hundred on here, but that wouldn't cover anywhere near the development or production costs.

No way. People need to get over the past. Hasbro's were great for their time, and still hold up today, but I want Mattel to focus on their core business lines of Basic, Elite & Legends. Anything else is pure fodder for the money wasters out there. I wouldn't buy a hasbro style figure today, no chance of it. Let's hope this idea floats in one ear & out the other of the people who can make this happen.

If they were to try a Hasbro style I would rather they try to make figures of the wrestlers that would fit in with the Hasbros time. This is where Jakks went wrong with their LJNs since they had many wrestlers already signed that would have been great for LJNs like Smash, Bad News Brown, the Rockers, Undertaker, Earthquake, Powers of Pain, Ron Bass and others.

I think it would be cool to see it, just because i had almost every hasbro figure when i was younger and loved playing with them, but technology moved forward and were now into the future ha you see these head scans and tattoo design art the elite and basic lines have, it would be just totally pointless and risky for mattel to do something like this hasbro idea. That would be like going from Gold to Bronze ya know ha elite and basics are amazing then to do hasbro type figures would be a waste to mattel considering there doing amazing with the ones they have now. not saying its a bad idea, cause like i said i loved hasbro as a kid but its the future now and we got the best with mattel. if they did do something like this down the road, i see it being done for the little kids but right now they have flex force and rumblers for the kids, even basics are good for the kids, but being an adult collector myself, im all for seeing more and more elites and legends but props for bringing up the memories of the hasbro days haha
