I've had my iPhone 3GS since August 2009. It's always been pretty good and I've never had any major issues, although it did annoy me having to charge it up basically every night. However, until recently if I did this then it would survive the whole day... but recently its decided to lose battery incredibly quickly. Like, if I send maybe 3 or 4 texts an hour and occasionally use Safari the battery will be gone in about 4 hours, maybe less. The back also becomes very hot very quickly, it wasn't like that before so I figure that must have something to do with it.
This is a massive pain, does anyone know what to do? Will it stop by itself? I'm one of those people who feels naked without their phone, so any help would be appreciated.

I can't remember if apple replaces the batteries or not in the iphone, but I think they don't. It's not a problem that is going to get better, it's just going to get worse. Odds are, you are in the market for a new iPhone really soon.

Odds are, you are in the market for a new iPhone really soon. They will not. They will just replace the whole phone if something is wrong with it; battery, vibrate slider, etc. My battery is kinda crappy now too, I'll have to see just how long I have left on my warranty, because I may get the phone replaced once more before it expires. I know it's up sometime in June.

Just know, you'll probably get a refurbished replacement which could possibly have its own problem. I would just buy a new phone if possible.
