At last word from last week’s WWE TV tapings, CM Punk has not re-signed a new contract. His current one expires at the end of the Summer. Punk is giving indications that he will be leaving when the contract expires but WWE is still trying to sign him. Word is that at one point, WWE offered Punk a role in a future WWE Studios movie. Source: PWInsider On Saturday he tweeted this: "Summer of Punk" probably points to this being his final summer in the company. Also, remember back to the Chicago RAW before WM, when Punk was sitting in the ring and the fans were chanting his name and Punk said "I'm going to miss this"? He was probably alluding then to the fact that he is leaving.

Summer or Punk is probably an allusion to Summer of Lebron. I bet he does end up resigning with WWE. Either way though it doesnt effect me, because I couldnt care less about Punk. But for everybody's here sakes I'd rather have him stay.

Well, I don't want him to leave.
I think it's a stupid move if he does leave and I also think it's pretty low if this is just a ploy to get his own way.

I'm pretty sure he was referencing the "Summer of George" from Seinfeld, a time of extreme inactivity

And the whole "I'm gonna miss this", was not missing being in WWE, but being in Chicago. I remember on Art of Wrestling Punk mentioning wanting to do a movie role. If they did offer him one, I'd have no doubt he'd probably take it.

I don't think Punk is motivated by money at all. From reading his Twitter, I get the impression that the only things Punk needs are his family, his friends, his comic books and of course wrestling. He said in an interview that he wanted to earn enough to buy a nice house, which he now has. He doesn't strike me as someone concerned with material things. Also, he lives in Chicago, why would he miss it?

Summer of Punk is a reference to his run as ROH Champion in 2005, people.

I'll be very happy if this is true. Maybe now Wade Barrett can reclaim his rightful place as leader of the Nexus and return it to it's former glory.

So basically the fate of 4 guys are on the line since when Punk goes, so does the rest of the nexus into unimportance.

Wade shouldn't be in any groups, he should be one of the main event heels on Smackdown. Punk should probably take a break and come back better than ever, with the jesus look of course.

Well, I definitely can't argue with that, but when he was the leader of the Nexus he was a top heel on the flagship show. Don't get me wrong, he definitely would be fantastic on his own, but for the time being I'd like to see him go back to taking charge of the best faction to come along in a long long time and bring it back from the dead.

I honesty don't think he's gonna leave. I see him signing a new multi-year deal and maybe then leaving once it's over.
