Ok so obviously i was unhappy about the missing detail on the legends 2 Sheik, and the fact that they put Iran down both of his legs. He never had that, im 99 percent sure. Mattel is yet to comment on that. Anyways, before i invest any money into the 2packs Sheik i had to do my research again. Sheik wore this gear in both the WWF and WCW. It took me awhile to find these and i started to think it was another screw up because usually Sheik had the camel logo on the left side of his trunks, not the right. But hey here it is. examples here If anybody needs me to track down any gear Mattel has used in figure form, i will gladly do it!

I have no real problems with any of the Sheik figures, the one thing that irks me is that they put him in damn shorts in the 2 pack. painting the legs just bugs me.

what is your obsession with the Iron Shiek dude?
I've never seen a collector go beyond researching like you have on this particular figure! You make Assassin look like a Mattel fanboy.
Pointless Trivia - did you know Iron Shiek had a boner when he jobbed to Hogan? Watch the vid!
Wonder what Mattel should do to make this accurate?

I appreciate what you're doing with matching attires to figures. I like knowing where some of the more obscure attires might have been used. However, this particular figure is at best a wasted effort. The shorts instead of trunks make this Shiek far more inaccurte to me than the L2 release. If it weren't for the Volkoff in this set I would have passed totally on it. But keep digging up the obscure stuff.I enjoy it.

It doesn't sound as much like Bandy was trying to be a tool, but just messing with you a bit. You really do know how to do your research! I too really dig figs with match specific attire (especially title wins). The sad part is the boner observation is indeed true.

Mr. Attack I think you might be a little to fanatical. I like that you posted the inaccuracies because this is a forum about wrestling figures. But you shouldn't become too obsessive and you have every right not to support Mattel with you money. But it's supposed to be a fun hobby don't get burnt out on it or you will lose the enjoyment. The guys who collect 1/6 scale military have a term for this type of collector, "stitch n*zi".

I think what they (Mattel) were trying to do there was make the trunks a little longer so they would lose the reverse wedgie look that all Elite figures wearing trunks have. What they need to do is try to make the hip piece a half trunk/half flesh mold like Jakks did with DA's. Still I love the 2-Pack Iron Sheik.

Hey Hart Attack, I wasn't trying to be a tool, just adding some humour into your life (hence the boner video). I too liked that you did a tremendous amount of research to try to validate L2 Iron Sheik, but now you're onto the 2-pack Sheik, a figure that is already highly inaccurate due to the toy having shorts when your reference pic clearly shows trunks. It's also part of a discontinued line, and it was clear from the beginning that Mattel wasn't going to go all out with those Legends 2-Packs in terms of multiple paint applications and accessories. If that stops you from buying them so be it.
But why stop there? Vader in L3 is also inaccurate. It's weird I know, but in all his matches I've seen he clearly has black knee pads over his tights, yet he does not come with knee pads. Should that prevent you from buying the figure? Your call really.
I think your efforts would be even more appreciated if you were able to track down the match that has BAFFLED the whole wfig message board - and that's the All Star Macho Man attire. All we have to go by is a 2 second clip from a Survivor Series intro. THAT reference pic would be worth something.

The Sheik's two pack attire was brought up, discussed, and put to bed when the figure first came out. Why bring it up now?

It isn't accurate. I get that. I really understand some people's fixation on true-to-life replication. When I play NCAA Football for EA Sports with the teambuilder (create-a-team), it makes me so mad when some punk puts Peyton Manning on the Tennessee Volunteers and gives him his NFL number (18) and not his college number (16) . . . just as an example. My point is: when you KNOW something is wrong, it's annoying. Like the yellow winged eagle belt with L6 Ultimate Warrior instead of the historically accurate yellow IC belt. So I completely understand where you're coming from, but if you had to do research to find the error, then that's a little over the top. Maybe you didn't need the research for yourself; maybe you only needed it to prove your point to the rest of us; to prove what you already knew in your mind. But if not, then you really shouldn't worry so much (or drag the rest of us readers into it). After all, I was blissfully ignorant of the mistakes in both Sheiks until you pointed them out.

The trunks being longer doesn't really bother me, but i don't see why is was neccessary considering Volkoff didn't get the same treatment. Lets see if they continue to do this for all Sheik figures, if so i will be cool. I don't want that one odditity in my collection though. So i hope they keep that style for the sake of it matching futures Sheik's in trunks.
