I used to have the Jakks WM2 Steel Cage Real scale ring - it's great for that price.
I just bought the Mattel RAW Elite scale ring - it's 10x better, a little bigger but a fantastic piece of work.
Maybe 90-100 is quite high (I got mine for 49 GBP) So try eBay or wait a while and it may drop in price, If you want to shell out the extra money buy the Mattel version - once you have it, you'll think it is worth the money.

Mattel Pros: 1.The turnbuckles are better. 2. It probably is a little sturdier. Mattel Cons: I think its a little too big.
Jakks Pros: 1.It comes with a cage 2. Although not as stable as Mattels, the turnbuckles are more like the real thing Jakks Cons: 1. IMO the ropes on RSRs are a bit flimsy or "loose" feeling. The Mattel version seems tighter. 2.Not as quickly assembled as an ESR
I have both and love both. There's not really any big world of difference between the 2. The biggest really is this RSR is classic styled and the ESR is modern. Perhaps whichever looks the best to you is the way to go.

I think the ropes are the same for both, it's basically the same elastic cord, mate. I'm a big Jakks fan, but I will give a point to Mattel for making their ring posts withstand the string tension so much better, they basically do not seem to cave in like the Jakks ring does. In my case, I did notice this also means that I have 3 bases touching the ground and the last one hovers milimeters above level, probably due to the string tension as it does not happen before the strings are placed. I do feel the Mattel ring is quite big compared to Jakks too. Ricflair4ever covered pretty much the rest and I appreciate his unbiased opinion.

Ive completely sold my soul to Mattel figures as of late but nothing will take the place of my Jakks RSR. My posts dont cave in (and never have) so personally I dont think you can get a better ring then that. However, if the Mattel classic ring ever comes up, Ill def consider it.

I love being able to put a blue steel cage on my Jakks ring and that is the one aspect of where I'd give Jakks the edge over Mattel.

While I am more a fan of classic styled things I do have both rings and the Mattel ring is the better product (as far as sturdiness/toughness) But I like the look and cage of the Classic ring more. It's too bad Mattel canceled their 80's ring as that would have been my favorite ring.

I'd Say go with Mattel, They're still a relatively new company and may release accessories for the ESR Later.

I think the Mattel ring's better, but the Jakks one is more durable. The apron tore apart on my Mattel ring the second time I assembled it.

the mattel ring is better, the ropes are tighter, the post are harder but 2 big. the turnbuckles are cool but not to real, the cloth on the mat is really cool not like the jakks one tht is with the skirt of the ring and the mattel ring skirt is apart from the cloth on the ring. i prefer the mattel one

I put together my RSR from jakks recently side by side with Mattel ESR, and the diefference is uncomparable. The ropes are insanely loose on the RSR compared to the ESR, and the turnbuckles are WAY to big and filmsy on the RSR. The ESR is nice, tight, sturdy, and secure.
