He's much different than say a Kamala or Terry Funk who younger viewers/collectors possibly wouldn't have seen since they got into wrestling. Kamala's had a few good appearances in WWE in the last decade, and he just looks like an eye-grabbing, fun figure. Arn Anderson looks like someone's grandpa in swimming trunks. Even in the last five years of WCW, he was just a plain-looking guy who walked around behind Ric Flair, really. I just don't think there are many fans of 1980s NWA wrestling that still buy toys. There are a few on this board, sure, but not anywhere near enough to empty the shelves of every Walmart and Target in the USA. I think the best chance a Double-A figure would have is if it was in a two-pack with the Nature Boy, and that's not going to happen anytime soon.

lol so true
But Regardless , Mattel thinks Really Plain Old School Guys in Trunks Sell Well, Funk , Orton, Kevin Von Erich, Sheik, Volkoff, Piper, etc etc etc.... So i can See Arn Making it into the "why are we having a hard time selling this?" category

You're right, they have made a bunch of guys in that category. I think they thought the Legends line would be a much easier sell than it ever was. I don't know if it's down to people sticking to their old Jakks collections or just getting bored of retro, or just producing way more quantities than Jakks did, but Mattel seems to have vastly overestimated what people will buy at these prices. It's a shame because they're all great figures, it's just that a lot of them should be kept for further down the road when the vibrant megastars have already hooked the customers.

Careful, this could be construed as an actual criticism of Mattel, and you'll get black-bagged V for Vendetta style. I'm curious as to what Arn Anderson would come with. Hopefully something good, because I want to be able to justify the price besides the fact that he's completely awesome and the sculpt looks perfect.

That's a mean sunburn Arn's sporting there. ;p
Looks like a strong likeness. I hope it comes out one way or another.

Thought this might be interesting to post. Close up pic of the Legends 7 Arn Anderson sculpt: It looks pretty legit, can't wait for his figure if the Legends line is still around

It's a shame because they're all great figures, it's just that a lot of them should be kept for further down the road when the vibrant megastars have already hooked the customers. I always wonder whether the poor sales are due to jakks collectors not wanting to make the switch ( I vowed I wouldn't until legends 5 came out) or if they are over produced, or if people are bored of retro like you say or if some fans just didn't even know there were new legends out due to distribution and the year of no figures when jakks quit. Its all a shame cuz I love legends figures, but I still think if mattel had hbk, hhh, taker, andre, bret hart all in the first 4 lines. And maybe red lod and camo sarge , then I think we wouldn't be in this pickle today. But then again what do I know Also, I think whoevers in charge of picking who gets made in legends was a big fan in the 80's. 2 packs and Legends 1 are flooded with guys from the 80's who don't have much relevance today. Nikolai and sheik were the two baddest dudes, both representing bad countrys that were enemies of usa. Steamboat, road warriors, piper, orton, dusty, old school slaughter ... No wonder they sold horribly... although i own them all and love them all.... they missed the boat when it comes to character selection. and i think arn would fit in the poor sales category until they gain more support by selling the WWE's Staple Legends

The head sculpt looks great, but the body they had it on in last weeks photos was way too thin. Still I can't wait for Arn to get released.

I want a WCW DDP in jeans with the taped abs and a removable t-shirt probably more than any other legends figure. More than Hogan, Foley, and any of the others, a good wcw DDP would be the coolest figure.

With DDP I'll get him if he's in a full Legends set because after the discount it's usually cheaper to get the whole set from RSC than in is to drop a figure from the series. But if the rumor on the boards is true (Which I still don't think it is) and they are adding 2 Legends to the Elite Series and he is one I'll more than likely pass on him.
