Hope Tully's not too far behind so we'd get the Brainbusters.

It is such a great likeness. I always liked the Jakks one but the Jakks Legends got to a point where I couldn't justify the purchase for the lack of quality they were beginning to shill out... I think the Mattel figures are probably the best representations of pro wrestlers I've seen- at least per my taste it's my new standard...
With that said I feel a couple of you have nailed it with what went wrong with Legends and I couldn't agree more. I could be wrong but I think the hottest bed of your Legends market is between 20-30, so you'd probably wanna go about 88-02 with your legends line, with sporadics and more later down the road from outside that range.
Arn is one I feel needs to be made, it's just a shame Ric Flair can't go home for good and knock it off with TNA. I'd really love to get the Four Horsemen, Mattel style.
And as for the DDP comments, I must say that after watching the Nitro DVD I want a WCW DDP bad myself, brothers! The fact that he hosted that shows they're placing some prominence with his WCW career and maybe that holds a strong fate for our Legends DDP. I'd love a Jeans/Taped ribs with the blue diamond t-shirt and would go nuts looking for a tights-variant.

I want a WCW DDP in jeans with the taped abs and a removable t-shirt probably more than any other legends figure. More than Hogan, Foley, and any of the others, a good wcw DDP would be the coolest figure. i'm really looking forward to the DDP figure and have high hopes for it too... but what's that got to do with this topic? someone mentioned DDP somewhere on the first page and I marked out, i think.

This level of quality in a sculpt should not go to waste! I hope it gets put in a wave for sure. Mattel versions of Arn/Tully are high on my wants. He may pegwarn ,he may not. I just want it produced. To me,its more exciting than yet another Taker/HBK.

I'm tired of people saying "this certain figure will warm shelves" If Mattel produces and packs the series right no Legend will warm the shelves. When Jakks came out with a new figure everyone wanted the most obsecure guys. People saying Anderson will warm the shelves is rediculous.... the same with any other legend who's popularity was at its height during the 80's to mid 90's. All they have to do is pack/produce the figure right and they will become one of the most saught after figures. It just seems like everyone has been down on this line and maybe that and the bad distribution is whats killing it. The Mattel legends figures are the best figs ever made. Whoever said earlier that most NWA -80's fans don't collect figures anymore is def wrong. I know atleast 15 people who love and collect figures from that era. Its just the poor distribution/packing of the figs that has killed the line. Arn Aderson is one of the best workers of all time and def. deserves to have a Legend fig....

Funny the collectors knew who Arn was with Jakks. His figure all moved around here... Yet 2 or 3 years later now people are saying nobody would want him. He's one of my top wants and I'm sure his figure would still move from the pegs.

I think the problem is with mattel telling us legends have sold terribly its made us all play the guessing game, Without the details its hard to say who would or wouldnt sell. I agree , they could sell anyone if packed the right way , in a strategic Lineup, Distributed right. I Think Arn would warm pegs because he falls into the whole Sheik-volkoff-orton-piper-steamboat-sarge-dusty-funk thing... a guy from the 80's in trunks and boots..... or just a boring looking costume.... I for one WOULD buy A.A .... im just guessing if the other guys were terrible sales then he would fall into the same market. I Just Hope Mattel Keep Legends Going With More Strategic Sales. Jakks Was Successful enough to run 28 series as well as other sub series, they led the Show with Undertaker, Flair, HBK, HHH, Warrior, Andre, Bret Hart, Yokozuna........ And after so many series when everyone was hooked, they could sell bastion booger..... i think it wouldnt hurt Mattel to invest in these WWE Staples as well HBK, Undertaker, HHH Headlined More Videogames, Raws, PPV's Than Guys like Pillman, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Iron Sheik..... So Why havent these guys been in Legends Yet? If you want good sales then sell whats gold

Head scan looks amazing!!
I am so confused though, I just want it to be SDCC so we get the straight forward answers. Rumored lineups say Andre, DDP, Magnum TA and Austin in Legends 7 then Kane and Shango are the next 2 to come into play, then where does Arn go?
I really just can't wait for answers that come straight from Mattel.

I'm just giving an example

The head looks great. I will buy it!
Look who is warming shelves now - Sheik, Roberts, Perfect, Rude, etc. All were huge stars. The Legends line itself is unfortunately a shelf warmer.
The household names per series are the only Legends selling. Series 2 & 3 were the line killers. I bet this line is going Matty Collector.

Looking forward to having Arn in the collection. Hopefully we get Tully too. I find it interesting how a figure will pegwarm in one area and be hard to find in another. I saw Jake only once in a store. The only warmers I see now are the HOF series at Kmart, Piper/Orton and Shiek/Volkoff at TRU, and Rhodes and Slaughter at Targets and Walmarts. Other than those the rest are selling in the stores I frequent in my area. A Walmart in my area has sold 2 cases of series 4 and 1 case of series 5 in the past month.

I also don't get all the negtivity about the Legends figures. First, before we read more into the answers given by the Mattel folks, let's see what they have to offer at SDCC.
Second, while some of the Legends have been shelf warmers, in my area most haven't. The only ones I see around here are Funk and Pillman. I think part of that has to do with how long they've been coming in, rather than Series 4 which I've still only seen at Walmart. And when I see a new case of those put out at Walmart, they're usually all gone within a few days. Same with Series 3 at TRU. Obviously the Rock figures don't last an hour, but I've seen Vader, Hennig and even Bulldog fly off the shelves within days.
I wasn't a Jakks collector (always thought their product was crap), so I can't comment there. But, for once, it would be a breath of fresh air to see someone post something optimistic about the Legends line.
My first reaction was to be quite excited about Anderson. I'd love to have it in my collection. Not fret about him being a shelfwarmer.
