I was on the WWE website last night and they had a banner that asked for a quick survey, so I went ahead and did it. The questions were asking what you thought about Kohls, JC Penny, Walmart, Target, and Kmart. Also they asked about 10 question about Kmart in particular.
I know WWE has been pushing Kmart really hard, and from what I've read they were supposed to be the Mattel figure headquarters or something? It got me thinking though, I haven't even been to a Kmart in 6 or 7 years. The only Kmart around here is extremely run down from the outside and not very nice inside either. I feel like I should check out their selection but I've heard Kmart isn't stocking as good as other stores. I mean, so many Kmarts went out of business and I don't think I've ever seen a very nice one.
So I have a few questions. How do you feel about Kmart getting this huge push? And also, where do you usually get your figures from? And lastly, how would you feel about one retail store having a far bigger selection than any other?
For me I've always thought as far as retail stores go that TRU and Walmart have been the best places to look for figures. I go to target for mostly everything else but for some reason rarely look at the figures there. I still feel though that if you want to make sure you get a figure, pre-orders from RSC is the way to go. Now that I'm caught up that its the way to go to avoid driving all over looking for something.

i usually get mine online but my local comic shop has a good selection, much bigger than toys r us. toys r us is supposed to be the main toy shop around but there selection is usually pathetic over here. and our supermarkets don't keep up swith new series very well buit we have a shop called argos which is quite good for keeping up and getting new basics first.

All single series Legends (1-6) I get the first set from RSC then I'll get a second set from TRU/Target when they hit locally. All Basics & Elites are from TRU/Target/Wal-Mart unless it's a figure I really can't wait for to hit locally and then I'll get it from RSC, Mattel shop, TRU.com & WWE shopzone. I will never order anything from KMart.com because I've used them twice for DCUC & TDK figures and both orders weren't even close to what I ordered. Then it took over a month both times with numerous calls to get my card credited. Have you ever heard the expression "It's so easy a trained monkey can do it"? Well in my experience it seems KMart.com is where the monkeys work before they get trained. They are a total cluster.

Kmarts are lagging but they did have 2 good promos. The first one I remember was if you spend more than $24.99 or higher there were coupons for llike $10 or $15 off a future purchase and the other one was where if you buy 2 legends, you get the third free so it was $9.99 and I was able to get the Rock, Mr. Perfect and Vader for $30. Right now, they are lagging and I haven't seen anything past than Basic 9 and Elite. However I did get Legends 4 in the beginning of the year and haven't seen any restock of Legends 4 but have seen Legends 3 a couple of times.

I mostly buy from RSC and TRU but I sometimes buy from Amazon too. I go to KMart a lot but they rarely have anything at all.

KMarts first promo was buy 1 get 1 free when Mattel first started the WWE . I picked up the last Series 1 2-Packs along with the 3 Series 2 for 50% the regular cost. I was the only reason I picked up the Colon's

pretty much all first release figures and legends I get from Ringside, if there are basic repaints that I want or PPV sets I usually wait for Target or Walmart to get it

Any sites. The ones said already. Kmart has nothing. I just got Elite 6 Batista there a while ago, and did the $10 Legends thing to get Vader, Mr. Perfect, and Rock. Before that was Jan. 1st LAUNCH of Mattel where they had everything. I was pumped and got a bunch of the release stuff, but then they flopped after that. They had a huge stock, maybe it didn't sell (since they had like 10 of everything!) and don't want to be burned again.
I try stores but they are always so behind. Best things I found was Elite R-Truth at a Target, and Elite gold and silver Rey at Walmart when I was on vacation in Florida. Other than that I look for sales or Clearance. Got DM Machoman ON CLEARANCE at Meijer's. And Entrance Great DiBiase.

I only buy only elites and certain basics for headswaps. So I order most my elites as soon as they go up for preorder from rsc, basics I get as I see them in stores

I have gotten most at Walmart with some at Target too. Very rarely if ever at TRU.

Mine are spread out between Wal Mart, KMart, Target, and Toys R Us. I've gotten pretty much equal amounts at all of the above. No real set place. If I'm in the area and pop in I look to buy a figure or two if they have any that peak my interest.

Mostly RSC.
But WalMart and Target also. KMarts in my area are pretty bad. I always feel like I am completely wasting my time when I go in there.
I got to TRU probably once a week and never buy anything. That place sucks too.

It used to be tricky keeping up with release schedules. My general rule was: TRU for exclusives and playsets, Target for Basics, Walmart for Elites, and Kmart for Legends. It's slowly changed over the months and now, Walmart and Target have the best selection in my area. TRU is sorta making a comeback lately, with newer Basics and PPV series.
Another recent change is that I pre-order all my Elite/DM's/Legends, and some select Basics, from RSC months in advance. I only look for extra Basics and 2-packs in stores, mostly for headsculpts or debut figures that I like, when they hit retail.
Oh yeah, I'll need an extra Big Show for the belts when E10's hit stores, I only pre-ordered one. Chances are, Walmart will get them first.

Walmart is usually king, but I've read horror stories on here about some Wally Worlds! 2010 was the year of Kmart. Now it's a wasteland. Now it seems like Toys R Us/Target have really picked up the slack. Hell, Toys R Us went from being one of the worst to one of the best in about 3 months!
Hard to find/must have figures are a RSC no brainer though. CHECK HERE FIRST before driving all over creation to find some of these figures.
