his foot was under the rope, most likely setting up another match for Money in the Bank, probably a NODQ match or steel cage match, some sort of special match like that with no rules.

No. Even though Randy Orton has been the champion this whole time, Christian is THE focus of Smackdown. The focus is always on Christian and his pursuit of the title. Orton means nothing in this feud, he could have been replaced with whomever and the feud would have worked. They're building Christian up and I like it.

While I agree that it is usually about the journey to gold rather than actually capturing it in the world of wrestling, I think this time the journey is taking too long.
Orton doesn't need the title to stay popular, but at this point it's essential for Christian to get it to remain relevant to the Main Event scene.

I don't think so at all, personally I really like how this feud is going and how Christian just can't seem to beat Orton, I think it will happen either this ppv or more likely at Summerslam in some sort of a special match ending the feud.
