Mattel should have had this done AGE'S ago.
Very Disappointing. They should have everyone in the roster scanned as soon as they join so they can at least get some planning done for if they become popular.
Very silly mistake.

Good news I guess. I was hoping for him and Miz within the next two 2-Packs series' though...

For as big of a company as Mattel is, they sure leave the impression that they don't know what they're doing. One year before they can get a figure for a new performer? Do they understand how things work in WWE? This should have rang bells in WWE's head while they were in the negotiating stages. Seems like Mattel came into this with an overestimation of what they were capable of and WWE bought it.

Awesome. The guy in the pic with him is so small that he makes A Ry look like Great Khali.

I think they didn't know that Alex would be a huge star overnight. I didn't see that coming either.

Maybe they are doing a scan for his recent face turn for a figure at a later date. Maybe they already have a heel one back when he was Miz's lackey. I don't know, just trying to make some sense as to why they'd be scanning him now.

Maybe hes just updating the headscan?
It is cool that hes getting it but I would have thought he would have had one done by now, surely being with the Miz for months would have gotten him a scan.

Sweet! It would be awesome if he and Miz had a 2-pack that came with inflatable "Awesome" Letters! It would probably be too expensive though...

He really should have been coming in the next few series because hes been a pretty focal point of TV for quite some time now by being Miz's apprentice despite wrestling sporadically over the last year on TV

That is cool.
They should have done it sooner though.
Oh well; not like I would buy him but it sucks that they do this for everyone who isn't super popular and it takes forever to get some people.

Waiting about a year seems long. How long was the wait for a Jakks figure? Anybody remember?

Can they just do it at WWE shows, or do they have to bring the person to Mattel HQ to do it? If it's the latter, there's really no point bothering until someone seems worthwhile.

As far as I know, Mattel uses Gentle Giant for their scanning (same company Jakks used) - I'm not sure exactly how costly it is, but I doubt it's cheap. Scanning everyone, and only using even 70% (being generous) of the scans is probably less than cost effective in the long run.
