3 things I don't like about it:
1) The plastic mat buldges on 1 quarter of mine making it impossible to stand figures up on certain parts.
2) The fabric mat comes loose way too easily. The clips don't seem to work very well.
3) There are no specialty match sets that fit it and there are no plans to make them.
That said, I still think I like it better than the RSR.

If you like to play with your figs or animate with them, the turnbuckle pads come off exposing the steel and you have steps. All in all better ring to me.

Personally, I think it is the best ring available and the price is the best value. Considering the size and quality, the $60 I paid for it seemed like a steal. You should definitely buy it. Plus, I think Mattel is holding back on making additional add-ons because it doesn't seem to really sell.

First of all, welcome to the forums! Since you have the Jakks RSR, then you probably have the space for the Mattel ESR. If so, I highly recommend upgrading to the ESR, it's the best ring made to date! I also have the Hell-in-a-Cell RSR and, like you said, the ring ropes are very loose and wobbly now. Also, the corner posts are warping inward and the middle is slightly raised, where the ring folds in half, so it's not level anymore. In contrast, the ESR is just built better and looks great! If you do upgrade to an ESR, I suggest holding on to the ring accessories from the RSR. For example, I kept the Cell cage walls and foam floor mats that surround the ring since they work nicely with the ESR. Since Mattel has stated that they will only make Basic-scaled ring playsets in the immediate future, it's a good idea to keep the HiaC, MitB, or EC parts from Jakks in the meantime! If ring accessories or specialty match types are important to you, I also recommend looking into Mattel's Ringside Battle Playset! For further reference, here's the links to both of my reviews and pics of the Mattel rings: Setting the Stage: The Elite Scale Ring Setting the Stage: The Ringside Battle Playset
I hope this helps!

Mattel mentioned something about a cage set in their Q & A. I would definitely love something like that, especially if they make it separately so I don't wind up with a roomful of ESRs like Jakks did to me.

Has anyone tried using the Jakks Cell (not the Real Scale one, the Armageddon one for the smaller ring) as a cage on the Mattel elite ring?

Has anyone tried using the Jakks Cell (not the Real Scale one, the Armageddon one for the smaller ring) as a cage on the Mattel elite ring? Didn't take any good pics of what it looked like, but I did play around with that this weekend. Had to tie the sides together with fishing wire. Not much room between the ropes and cage.
