I've been collecting for 20 years & can't believe how many idiots complaining about the littlest things. Mattel is by far the most accurate, detailed & articulate wrestling figures. Figures comes a long ways since LJN days. Why don't you just be happy with what you have & stop looking for stuff to complain about. Benoit, Blue Blazer, Owen Hart, DX, probably most of DX & Venis (bc it's not PG friendly) won't be made, anyone in TNA & A/NJPW can't be made because competition & Jakks signed the license. They can't make certain attires because some licenses are not expire to make certain attires (LOD, Vader) bc of Jakks Classic. By the time a figure is signed it takes a year from production to selling it. Should have a complaining tread. the line going to 1 per elite series is not some little thing to complain about Idiot. which is my major concern and i offered some reasons why it could happen and to help it not happen, sorry. btw, did you know complaing or voice your concerns about products or services here in america is the no 1 reason that service or product gets improved (consumer economics 101).

Personally I love Mattel and their Legends line, new attires for some first figs for a lot like Macho, Von Erics & STeamboat those are all amazing figures. The amount of detail they have done with the Legends Line is Phenomenal and I give them all the credit they deserve, we dont need Hogan's & Flair's to have a good line, George Steel Great figure love Mine and a removable shirt, Hillbilly Jim love the whole figure especially the horseshoe necklace could of used a slop bucket but who cares, Screw you for disrespecting such a good line of figures.

Its a very different time for toys in general. Whens jakks started classics were 9.99 maybe even cheaper and were a great value. $16 for one figure is insane, and any 6 inch figure line going at that price is going to fail. On top of that we have Mattel handling the line. Mattel makes wonderful toys, but they don't make good decisions and their distribution has been terrible for years.

You do realize how many action figure toy lines are currently at that price point... right? Just wondering, being that it's pretty standard these days.

You have noticed how small the action figure section in stores are...right? Could it have anything to do with loss of interest in figures and a mix of sky-high prices?

You have noticed how small the action figure section in stores are...right? Could it have anything to do with loss of interest in figures and a mix of sky-high prices? ...due to the economy? I don't know what any of that has to do with my original post, but yes. "Action figure" selections at stores have gotten smaller, and prices have gotten higher, along with that has come new technologies used in designing and making them, along with rising costs for materials, and the rising cost of oil (which is used in plastic), and the rising costs of shipping products from factories overseas to distribution centers and warehouses here in America (and other countries). To put it mildly, I'm sure pricing on the shelf reflects ALL of those issues. After all, these companies are in business to MAKE money, not bleed money. A lot of people use Marvel Universe, by Hasbro as a good example, 3.75" figures that go for (usually) about $10 a whack. Mattel's prices for what you get aren't any worse - not by a long shot. I'll give another example - I just purchased NECA's Duke Nukem figure, seven inches tall, comes with just a small pistol and a tiny cigar - set me back $15 plus shipping. I have McFarlane's "The Walking Dead" sets on preorder, per figure individually they retail around $15. If I remember correctly, JAKKS Deluxe figures (where I live, in New Mexico) sold for around $12 and some change, their standard figures were about $10 - not much of a leap in comparison to Mattel's prices which offer higher quality detail, and accessories. With JAKKS you were lucky to get half way decent (at best) deco, and an over used chair, unpainted belt, or cookie sheet. As for a loss of interest with figures, I don't see that at all. It's much more commonplace and accepted NOW, for adults to collect toys than it was years ago.

I understand why people are nervous that the line is going to end...hell I'm pretty nervous about it. But I wouldnt say I'm dissapointed with Mattels legend line so far. Every figure is amazing with tons of effort put into them. The Legends/DM line even though it is still fairly small is the best figure line to date IMO. I started collecting LJN's when I was young and to just see the progression of wrestling figures is awesome. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MATTEL!!

I still say the economy is the biggest problem with the Legends line. Line-ups we all want simply aren't possible, because there is no such thing. Almost every proposed line-up that someone here guarantees would sell, in my eyes, isn't any better, and is often much worse than what Mattel has given us.
I think the one thing that could make an impact, and I am not sure how much, is a build a figure. Not only that...a a BAF that people want. I am sure it would piss a lot of people off, but make the BAF's of people like Bret Hart, Hogan, Foley, Flair (of course when they eventually have the rights to these). Display the promotion prominently on the package, and somehow find a way to do as much as possible to prevent the theft of the pieces. Now if Mattel wants to get a little greedy...make a BAF variant to normal BAF. Bret with all pink tights with the variant being all black. Again...I know this would piss some people off, but I know a lot of you would begrudgingly buy these, and maybe an extra set just for the variant BAF. This, I think could breath some new life into the Legends line.

Unfortunatly i would end up buying 2 of each figure for variant b.a.f's.... but that would be a nightmare to find , if you want 2 of each legend, and considering you dont know the case packing , it would be damn hard to get a full variant. but regardless i would one way or another

Its impossible to make everybody happy and usually the toy company is right. A lot of times you'll see "collector's choice" or "fan favorite" figures that are determined by a vote. Often times they become the biggest peg warmers.

But the thing you're failing to realise is that these figures need to sell to more customers than just us hardcore fans on this forum. A Hulk Hogan figure at $16 is going to be attractive to a casual buyer -- a Hulk Hogan figure that you have to spend $64 on buying Ted Arcidi, Jim Powers, Barry Horowitz and IRS on isn't going to be that attractive to the average browser.

Agreed. However I like that proposed line up. Just change IRS to Mike Rotundo. I swear Arcidi was one of my favorite LJNs.

I'm not failing to realize anything. I also would never consider making the first 3 figures you named. What you're failing to realize is that there needs to be something new added to the mix to prompt people to buy the lesser known Legends. The Rock & Stone Cold are every bit as popular as Hogan is with today's fan, and the sales of their figures were not enough to carry the Legends line.

I think Personally all they would need to do is hook the customers with Big name legends like Bret, Andre , HBK, Trip H, Undertaker and add in B Name stars and then when enough customers are hooked then the C and D name Stars will sell better.... but what the f... do i know

This is what I was concerned about. My dissapointment in Mattell stems from decisions in the begininning of the lione that started it off slow, forcing Mattel to rethink things and now we less legends coming.
THAT was my big Dissapointment. I LOVE The qaulity of figs and most of the guys they are making.
Now its 6 Legends a year on Mattycollector, 1-2 per Elite series (might as well say 1, because the other will always be a current wwe star : Kane,Taker,HHH,Cena,Rey, etc), and Defining Moments.
I was hoping Mattel was going big, and had the next 2 lines of Legends and some Tag Team packs ready to go at SDCC.
NOT giving up though. the figs look awesome regardless. Andre, Macho King, Hart, Shango = Nice!
And who'd you vote for on the poll?

Ive just started collecting Legends which i think look awesome. Im happy with what they've put out so far but the news that their going to be matty collector exclusives for 2012 has me a bit disappointed because shipping from mattel will cost alot. But now that ive found out 1 figure will be released every 2 months i think ill be able to afford that. Will we need a wwe legends subscription for these figures or is it first come first served basis??
