Seriously, I never understood the hate for the guy. Sure, his face run got stale after a while, but that was the writters fault, not his. The guy was pretty good in the ring for a big man and could sell really, really well. He had good charisma as well, and put on great matches w/ HHH, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and The Undertaker. Another thing I heard alot is that he had no passion for the business. While he obviously had other interests than just wrestling, he cried when he won the world title at WM21, and I don't care what anybody says, because that was real emotion. I'd take Batista over John Cena anyday. And as a heel, he was one of the best characters in the WWE, whether he was Evolution's enforcer or the dominant monster heel(2010), the guy was always entertaing to me as a heel.
Anybody else feel the same way or do you feel that his criticism is deserved?

I never liked him. He was just another lumbering big guy most of the time. Ironically, his matches with Cena (another guy from whom I don't care) are some of the best of their respective careers. They really brought out the best in one another.

aside from his feud with HHH I have to say I didnt really enjoy him.
after 2005 he seemed to get very lazy and Sloppy.yes he had some great collisions with Undertaker too but that was more to do with UT than him I feel.
his heel run was ok but came way way too late.

A good big man by WWE standards. He had some good matches, which is more than I can say for a lot of people "hired for their physiques" to be honest.

I absolutely agree with you, cordless2016
I just don't understand why they turned him heel in the end of 2009 because they brought him to SmackDown to have a real top-face.
But I liked his heel run very much, as I always liked Batista, heel or face

I enjoyed Batista in Evolution. After he turned face, I despised him.
