Hes 27, has no job, a ginger, and still lives with his mom. Hahahaha ohhh boy, he has a sweet life! He bought like 30 sheamus back when they were the hot item. How difficult is it to get a legitimate job? First off.. who are you to judge this guy? Is he happy with his life? How about you? Are you happy with yours? Everyone always assumes that happiness=money, power, or prosperity.. but that's just not the case. And again.. like I touched on above.. how do you define a "legitimate job"? Is a woman stripping for a living a "legitimate job" to you? What about me? I sing, book bands, play guitar, run sound and run lights for a living... basically everything surrounding the music business. Is my job a "legitimate job" to you? Just because the person isn't wearing a suit and tie or a uniform doesn't mean they have a job that isn't "legitimate", it just means it's a job that's different than the normal. By the time those of us with real jobs or school get to them, the new figures are gone. Again with the "real jobs" thing huh? Unlike anyone anywhere who works for Walmart, Kmart, TRU, Ringside, FYE, McDonalds, Burger King, 7 Eleven.. or ANY company anywhere that buys things at a cheaper price and sells them at a higher price, right? Screw all those people, man! </sarcasm> When confronted about it he gave the "Its my money and I can buy what I want, if you want it you can get it off ebay" typical response. We then proceeded to watch 2 dads beat his ass in the parking lot and take the toys from him. It was quite amusing really cause I hated those guys with a passion. I've yet to see any of those guys since. I swear to everything I am that I hope the two dads got jail time, and had to pay all sorts of restitution. It would have been even better if the "scalper" was carrying a weapon and defended himself from the unprovoked attack. I have a personal policy.. as soon as you lay a hand on me unprovoked, I will be defending myself to the maximum extent that I can. It's a shame the scalper was unable to do the same. What they did is EXACTLY the same as rolling up to the Walmart tractor/trailer with baseball bats and guns and taking what you want, plain and simple. Remember the "they took our jerbs!" episode of South Park? That's these guys. I mean, really? The mindset had to have been "Oh, my kid really wants this. This guy isn't going to keep it.. he just wants to sell it to someone like me to make some money. Screw that! I'm going to take whatever I want!". Apply the same thing to the Walmart shipping truck.. you're looking at a serious crime. See.. I'm 28.. but I'm starting to realize this. The entire problem in this country, and possibly in most civilized countries... is that we want EVERYTHING, and we want it NOW.. and screw anyone that wants to keep us from it. Sounds like that would have been Blackbeard's mantra on his pirate ship... it's just not the way the wheels turn. I just get so sick and tired of everyone wanting thing both ways. Do you people want order, or do you want chaos? Do you want free commerce and trade, or some form of communism? Do you want an open and fair market, or a market where you pay your money and you get whatever they want to give you? Freedoms and uncertainty, or security and confinement? Yes.. it sucks that if I want certain figures, I have to either hope to catch them first, or pay more for them.. but how can I possibly hate someone for engaging in the most American thing of all, capitalism? And on the other side.. I have a place like eBay to get figures I'd have never been able to get before. You can't have things both ways people... EDIT: Oh, and to the OP. I read your post over a few times. What are you mad about? The difference in an Elite and a 2 Pack is what, a dollar or two? The guy offered to trade you, probably to help you get Ryder, not to "screw you out of a dollar". You seem all worked up and judgmental about these folks.. do you ever stop to think what might have been going through their heads? Or.. in other words.. do you really think they found you as evil as you found them? I'm really not trying to defend every "scalper" everywhere (I've met some in my time searching for figures that were total jerks).. but c'mon people. You guys seem to hate them as much as racists and zealots hate the people they hate. Stop being so filled with anger, rage, and negativity!

What an epic story! I'm sorry it ended with you not getting Ryder. I'm also on a tear to find E9 Miz & Ryder myself. Managed to rescue an L5 Savage from a suspicious dude

Like he was gonna use the L5 Savage to start World War 3 or blow something up with it? Thanks for saving us from such a horrible potential tragedy! I kid.. but I really hope you guys understand how ridiculous your viewpoint is on this from an outside, unbiased perspective?

Almost everyone that complains about "scalpers" is so short sighted. You people do realize that Walmart, Ringside, TRU, K-Mart, and wherever else you go to get figures doesn't pay the same thing you do for them, right? The entire American system of commerce is based on this principle. It's sound business and economics, buy low, sell high, and it's the way our economy's wheels turn. I could be wrong but isn't ticket scalping illegal. Technically aren't you only allowed to sell for a certain amount over face value? Just like toys, tickets to a concert or ballgame are not a necessity of life yet ticket buyers have some protection against scalpers. I guess its because most adults don't collect toys so our complaints aren't loud enough to politicians. There's a guy at one of my TRUs who gets in at opening buys the hot sports figures then sells them across the street at the store in the mall where he works or owns. Its practically on TRU's premise.

I'm not sure the legality of ticket scalping. What I'm arguing, however.. is that the TRU that sells the figures in the first place isn't paying the $17 for the Ryder figure that they charge to the consumer. I don't know how much they are paying for it.. but it isn't seventeen dollars. So if someone is able to buy a Ryder figure for $17 at TRU and then sell it to someone else for $30.. well.. more power to them! They just did the EXACT same thing that TRU did in the first place! By the way.. how much is Ryder at Ringside right now? Supply and demand, people. And I hope they manage to sell every single one of them... because if it wasn't worth it, no one would buy them, right?

Ringside exploits collectors but at least does so with giving an advantage -- you get the figures earlier than people who buy them at retail. If you don't want to pay Ringside prices, you can wait a few weeks and get them from Toys R Us or K-Mart or wherever. Oh wait, you can't, because a jobless scumbag camped out and got them already.

Sounds like the employee at the 1st store was a friend of the scalpers. That's probably how they knew what was in each box and why he wouldn't check the back for you. It's really not that hard to know what's in each box as the series is printed on the sides of the boxes

There are laws against gas price gouging but gas is pretty much a necessity so I don't know if that's a fair comparison. I have to admit I paid $29 for a E8 Sheamus on ebay.

Scalping & scalpers sucks. And yes, ticket scalping is illegal. But you know how to stop it...just don't feed them. Stop buying it off ebay or wherever else they might be trying to sell it. If I can't find it at mass retail or RSC then I don't get it plain and simple. I do have a question, Do I have to bring my figure with me into the store with the receipt to make an adjustment? I do have a question, Do I have to bring my figure with me into the store with the receipt to make an adjustment? No, just the receipt. In fact if you have any TRU coupons bring them. I had a "$10 off of $50" coupon that was valid starting July 1. I bought my stuff on Thursday. The cashier said she would also take off the $10.

You're just pretending to? I'm trying to show all of you that your hate is really silly when you stop and think about it from another perspective. Ringside aren't taking the figures away from the standard retailers though. I still take issue with calling a professional "scalper" "jobless". You may dislike or hate what they do for a living.. but they most certainly do have a job, as evidenced by the lack of the figure that you or I were looking for in the first place. I agree that it sucks to show up and find all the harder to find figures missing from a recently stocked shelf.. but I don't agree that you should hate someone else because they bought them. What if someone wanted to buy WWE figures because they liked the type of plastic Mattel used, and they wanted to melt it down and make something else with it? That's strange, weird, and they obviously won't be getting any use out of the figure, in the sense of playing with it or displaying it. Should that person also be chastised for purchasing a figure you wanted? What about an individual that wants to buy wrestling figures to store in a box somewhere as collectibles, never to be played with or displayed? I guess the heart of this discussion is the same.. the PURPOSE for someone else buying a wrestling figure doesn't matter to me, as I'm mature enough to realize that it's just really none of my business. If I want the figure and I know someone else will be going after it, I'll just get the earlier than them and try to get it first, plain and simple...

If I can't find it at mass retail or RSC then I don't get it plain and simple. THIS is the correct answer, by the way. If you disagree with the practice these people have of buying something and reselling it at a higher price.. DON'T BUY IT AT THE HIGHER PRICE! Obviously, if none of us did, then scalping wrestling figures would dry up as a business opportunity for these guys...
