Ok, so what I can tell from the continues Mattel Q&A's is that they have no intention at this time of making steel cages, HIAC, EC, aprons, ropes, etc for the Elite Scale Ring because they haven't sold enough of them to warrant the add-ons.
However, they also mentioned in a Q&A about us getting on RSC about wanting aprons and ropes for the rings. So my question, or suggestion is, what if Mattel were to produce add-ons for the ESR and make them exclusive to RSC? My point is, the members of this forum are pretty committed and serious collectors, and I'm certain that a large percentage of us own a ESR. So if RSC were to work out some sort of deal to carry these products, do you not think that they would sell well? Just an idea I thought would be good to throw out there and discuss.

The market just isn't big enough for this. Only other ring skirt I would buy is Legends.

The market just isn't big enough for this. Only other ring skirt I would buy is Legends. Granted, for ring skirts, the market may be limited. However, you don't think that everyone who purchased the ESR would be interested in getting their hands ona cage, HIAC, EC, etc? They could even limit it to 3000 pieces, much like they do for their exclusive figures. Obviously, I know what you are getting at, and the cost to do this would have to be evaluated. My only reason for thinking about this is becausee I'm a little upset about there nothing being released for the ESR. For example, when I heard that Mattel had aquired the WWE license, I pretty much ended my Jakks collecting day, because I figured I'd have to start new with Mattel. While I do have a RSR Steel Cage and HIAC, I passed up on the EC, and now it seems impossible to find one. I purchased the ESR assuming we'd eventually get those accessories down the road. DMG

It sucks that they are not making accessories for the esr. They make so many of the smaller ones and they complain that they didn't sell enough esr's. If I knew that there was not going to be any ringskirts and ropes for my esr to change it up, I would have just bought the small ones instead!
I can't complete my WWE experience because I bought the better ring.

Yeah, I am not thrilled about this either. I sold all my old Jakks stuff, got on the Mattel bandwagon full-on, and now I probably won't get any of the real scale sets Jakks cranked out yearly. However, let's keep in mind how many years Jakks was making WWE figures prior to putting out the first RSR. They were WELL established with the line before any of that started. SO while it bothers me that there are no plans to produce these accessories for the ESR, I also want to give Mattel time to get established and make the line profitable enough to consider these things.
I would buy a cage set today. I'd buy a set of title belts today. It would be cool to have a modern set, and Legends sets from different eras/leagues. Such as an AWA set, ECW set, WCW set, NWA set, WWF 90's set, WWF 80's set, etc. (I realize we'll probably never get most of these, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy them if they did exist!) I would LOVE to buy a ladder match set if the ladders were in scale. I know Mattel has stated that hardcore matches rarely happen these days, so they don't provide a lot of accessories, and they have a point. But there are still a number of ladder matches that happen, and a ladder accessory set would be awesome. Maybe a TLC set? The only tables we've gotten from Mattel are in the Flex Force line, and they don't look like they are really in scale. I would LOVE to be able to buy replacement ropes. I would strongly consider buying:
HIAC EC MITB
sets, depending on cost.
I also am curious to see how the Vince mail in promotion goes. Might be interesting for RSC to do a similar promotion that once you buy a certain dollar amount from them they send you an exclusive figure, or accessory set?
I also think Mattel would be smarter to sell the sets without a ring. It would lower the cost for the consumer, and it would sell more ESR's.
It would be cool to have replacement parts for the ESR available too. Different colored ring posts, different colored ropes, different ring skirts, etc.
And I wish the ESR ring mat was built like Jakks' RSR one was, with the straps that went under each corner to hold it down. That seemed to work better than the ESR's does.

From what I am gathering, there appears to be a market for the accessories that I touched on, just on a smaller scale, which is why I suggested making them limited exclusives to RSC or maybe even mattycollector. Is it possible to start a dialouge with reps from RSC to see what would be realistic and practical as far as making any of these ideas into reality?

I really don't see how a standard cage set could be too expensive. No ring included, just 4 walls that hook together around an ESR. I think the price point for something like that could be made low enough that it would sell very well.

I'm certain that there is a blueprint somewhere in Mattel HQ for a steel cage, HIAC, EC, and more, because I highly doubt that ESR was designed without thinking that add ons would be made for them down the road. My thought is just to produce them on a smaller scale. DMG

Ok, so combining my topic along with the survey that someone else posted, is there any way we can get an online petition going to get our ESR accessories? I was also thinking maybe we could start a facebook page to see how many people would join it and support getting this done. Hell, petitions got Family Guy back on the air...TWICE...so it couldn't hurt. Anyone want to try and get something together?
