Angel HeartCool movie. Had to get my head around it at first, but the twist made the movie make sense. Creepy stuff. Star Wars Episode IV: A New HopeI can't believe this movie is nearly 40 years old. The special effects still hold up. Exceptional stuff. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes BackSome of the best storytelling in a movie ever. I forgot how epic this film was. Absolutely incredible outing. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the JediAlways my favourite from the original trilogy as it's absolutely action packed and ties up the story. Love this movie. Toy StoryThis just never gets old. A staple of my childhood that has followed me into adulthood. Fantastic stuff. It FollowsCool concept and well executed. Nice to see a modern horror mix it up a little bit. The score to this movie is really chilling, it's great. O Brother, Where Art Thou?Great movie. It's humorous and the soundtrack is what makes this movie. Very good stuff. Reservoir DogsGenius from Tarantino. Some of the dialogue in this movie is out of this world. Fantastic watch.

Inherent Vice (2014)
It should be renamed Incoherent Vice for its convoluted plot. This movie was infuriatingly boring.

Horrible Bosses 2.
I loved it - other people didn't but hey, to each their own...

Furious 7
I thought they tried to squeeze too much into one movie but I still enjoyed it.

Black Mass (2015)
This film depiction of organized crime leader, James "Whitey" Bulger's rise to power in 1970's South Boston, is limp. It is mind-numbingly boring and feels longer than it is.
A great crime drama builds up to a climactic finale. I would say that Black Mass ends anticlimactically, but it never rises. It runs in a straight line and doesn't really move. I would like to have seen a more in-depth look at the inner workings of the F.B.I.'s investigation, and for the movie to cover Whitey's time spent as a fugitive on the lam.
Some moments, like the dinner scene, have strong character interactions, but their relationships, overall, are weak. Most of the film feels like actors playing dress-up.
While Johnny Depp puts on a good show, his makeup is quite a distraction. It's hard to see past it. His transformation is ineffective.
Black Mass offers nothing new. It solely reminds us of what we've seen done before in crime dramas, and done better.

August Rush. It was a good movie. Robin Williams did an excellent job in the movie. The ending could have been a lot better.

Watched Coppola's Dracula film. I'm not sure why this film is so well regarded. The set designs are impressive and the cinematography is brilliant. Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins are great. But everything else is a disaster. Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are terrible. They're more like glaring distractions. The plot is bloated. The tone of the film is in a perpetual state of flux. It's such a wreck.

The Protector 2.
I absolutely loved the first one (and not just because it was filmed in my backyard) but this took everything great about the first one and essentially ruined it...less is more, I know what I'm getting when watching a Tony Jaa film but this was a mess...a shame too, cos I was looking forward to seeing it....

They hated one another from day 1.....its a miracle the movie seen the light of day with the descendants of Vlad taking Universal to court etc etc. People always miss Monica Bellucci in this one too..... my last was Age Of Ultron on Blu. Even better on repeat viewings!!

Thats why its called "Bram Stroker's Dracula." Bram Stroker being the author of the novel.

Just finished Braveheart. A true epic......McGoohan really was total bastard as Ol Eddie the butcher.
Never tire of this one.....a truly deserving Oscar winning best picture movie....something that's getting increasingly rare with the dreck that's winning lately.

And when you say "to closely follow the book," that is an overstatement. Regardless, just because a film is a more faithful adaption doesn't make it worth regard or praise.
