so i've read you can't remove the stains that clothes give, but is there a way to make sure it doesn't keep happening?

Usually the problem happens from the time the figure is packaged to the time of you opening it, so unfortunately, there's not much you can do to prevent it.

I'd say if it hasn't stained the figures yet wash the clothing. They make mesh bags for washing socks and or bras in. get one of those put the clothing in and wash it. (Just don't put it in the wash with whites especially reds) personally I'd wash them in a load with towels or dark clothes. I just washed a bunch of Mattel clothing today. They turned out fine so I think I'll try and wash the reds this weekend. Oh here's that pic you asked for - Ryder is darker

I actually take all of my figure clothing (cloth of course) and put a little warm water and detergent in the sink and wash the clothes to get any excess dyes or chances from staining out. It sounds odd but you'd be surprised at the color of the water afterwards.
