who would have faced Brock Lesnar? We all know about how Angle's broken neck almost caused him to miss WM19, and on the SmackDown before WM19, where he pulled the switch w/ his brother on Lesnar to defeat him, Angle was origionally schedualed to drop the title to Brock because his neck was that bad. Had Angle dropped the title to Lesnar, who do you guys think would have faced Brock at WM19?
IMO, I think that Chris Benoit would have taken Angle's spot. Taker, Hogan, and Big Show were already in big feuds leading up to the event, Edge was out w/ a broken neck, and Eddie Guerrero was still only seen as a mid-carder. Benoit really wasn't apart of a storyling at the time, and ended up teaming w/ Rhyno in that triple threat tag team match. I believe that Benoit would have been quikcly moved into a feud w/ Lesnar and the tag match would have been changed to Los Guerreros vs Team Angle.
Who do you guys think would have faced Brock had Angle not made it to WM?

I wouldnt have mind seeing HHH or Booker T take on Lesnar so that intellectually- disabled black vs white feud wouldnt have happened.

Honestly, I've always heard Hogan was going to face Lesnar at Mania. Before the McMahon feud, I always heard that Hogan would return in January (as he did), and look for revenge on Lesnar cause Brock was the one that put Hogan out of action in summer of 2002. So, in my head I thought Hogan would have been a good replacement.

benoit for da win. considering his push at the next royal rumble, it would've probably already been in the cards for him.

From what I've read it was to be Benoit, but I really don't think it would have been as good, Lesnar was the top face, Benoit would have gotten a pretty bad reaction at best.

Benoit was pretty over by WM19, so I think that he would have gotten a good reaction, though I agree that it would have been lackluster if Benoit had been thrown in the match only a week before WM.

Yeah it was general consenus at the time that Benoit was probably gonna face WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XIX if Kurt hadn't made it to the show. Now who would've won the match? Would Benoit be celebrating his first title win a year earlier? Who knows.
