Anyway you look at it, Mattel just took a major crap on part of the WWE's product. It's a ways off but the WWE toy line is now worth a lot less at the next round of negotiations with Mattel or any other company. If I'm WWE marketing I'm scratching my head how the line folded after 33 figures.

Not attacking you bro but people are just reading and going into mass panic/freak mode. Nobody is actually thinking and piecing together what they said. Ive posted it sooo many times but Ill post it again for anyone that hasnt seen it.
We knew Legends were going to be dropped to 4 per series so we're really not loosing anything. Look at it like this. -The old way we would see aprox 3 sets per year give or take. That's 12 figures per year.
+Now we're getting 6 figures per year through MattyCollector.com and 2 Legends/Throwbacks in the Elite line.
+Elite line comes out aprox Every couple months. So 3-4 series a year (times 2 Legends= 6 Legends)
=Add the Mattycollector line with the Legends from the Elite Series and we're getting about the same amount of figures per year and it will also be cheaper (from what I hear) for International customers.
Also since they mentioned Legends in Basic Lineups, I would imagine they are pushing the Entrance Greats into that Line just without the massive accessories.
We're getting the same amount of figures just distribution of them are changing. They basically took all our ideas from the "What to do with the legends line" thread and went with it.

If you have a debit/credit card, you can order from MattyCollector.com. This is a way to keep a niche line going. Little to worry about since stores don't have to order them. We get to order them directly.

I'm looking at it purely from the WWE business side. If part of their product is not at retail then that weakens its overall value. Say WWE was getting $10 million a year from Mattel. When they have to negotiate again, Mattel should offer them $8 million a year because the Legends line isn't as valuable. I have no idea about the actual numbers. Would Mattel have tried harder if it was their intellectual property. I know He-Man has no retail presence but lets face it, he's silly looking. A PG-rated Conan. And that's coming from a fan.

I buy from Mattycollector anyways so its not that big of a deal for me but I understand why some people are upset. I am not too enthused about Legends figures being included in the elite and basics. Now with only 6 actual legends figures a year I am hoping that we can get some more of the obscure figs on matty, I hope it won't take forever to get to some of the 80s guys I want. I am also hoping they just put most of the attitude era guys in the elite or basic and keep the real Legends of the 70s or 80s in the Legends packaging.
