I think the prices are to blame I dont blame the production team's choices or line names. Collectors alone are not enough to keep a toy line super succesfule. 80% of toys do get bought by actual KIDS(Parents money). I think the insertion to Elite is a stratagy mattel has to take for the retailers to buy their new stuff. retails will not buy legends because a lot of them site there. If you trick the retailer in to keep buying Elites and we get a couple of Legends(Flashbacks,Trick) then every body wins. 2 is fine as long as their Huge sellers, I mean come on collectors pick and choose too. thats why 10 Legends sit at my local walmart. But the good sellers sold out in the first week.

Some Legends is better than no Legends. I'm not happy but Legends sales suck. It's our fault, Mattel's fault and WWE's fault.
If Flashback figures don't sell, then we will have a problem.

I understand why they're doing it. I'm just lucky they released Mr. Perfect when they did. He's the only Legend I really wanted, and they did him (excuse the pun) perfectly. When my birthday rolls around in September, I'll try and grab an exclusive Masked Punk where I can get one, but other than that, I think I'm finally done. Between Mr. Perfect and the Ghostbusters II TRU 4-Pack...Mattel's given me no reason to complain. Thank you Mattel!

All I want to know is: How much is a Legends subscription and where do I get it? It will seriously suck if they don't offer one.
I don't like that you have to constantly keep voting. It's tedious and I don't feel like doing this for weeks but I'm afraid that if I don't, someone like Savio Vega will get spammed into the lineup. Actually, I like all the choices on the list, except for Vega.
BTW, my votes are:
Miss Elizabeth Junkyard Dog King Kong Bundy Ted DiBiase Jimmy Snuka
Sadly, I think except for Elizabeth, I'm in the minority for wanting classic 80's figures. I really hate that only 5 from that list will be guaranteed and that there's no indication of what will happen to the rest on that list. I wish they had a monthly figure instead, so we could get them all!

I'm very dissapointed aswell. I def want most of the guys on the list but the list wasnt even that great. I was hoping for a bunch of legends protos at comic con and just felt let down that the legends are on the backburner. Andre and the Rockers would sell like hot cakes in the stores so I dont see why mattel wouldnt release atleast one more series. A couple guys I know who arent on the boards already told me they are done collecting because they don't order online. I had high hopes for this series and it was the only reason I got back into collecting. My top 5 votes are (or as Booker T would say my Fav.5 lol) Arn Anderson Tully Blanchard JYD King Kong Bundy Demolition Crush. And I def want more figures released during a year. I wish they would atleast do 2 figs per set like they are doing with the Rockers

I'm not sure who the individual at Mattel is that makes executive decisions on their lines, but this whole debacle proves that they don't have a clue as to what they're doing. It would be comparable to iPod sales being dismal while the rest of the Apple line does well. Sounds to me like they care more about kids then adult collectors, which is odd since they seem to care about adult collectors for other brands.
The list is lackluster, but that has more to do with TNA than anything else. Sad really. Mattel makes phenomenal figures.

Without kids, and parents buying for their kids...there would be no WWE line. Collector lines with figures going for $15+ a pop are becoming increasingly harder to sell at retail.

First of all, are you SURE it's only 6 new legends a year on Mattycollector.com? The impression I got was that they're going to release numerous series of Legends on MattyCollector.com and that the first one was Andre the Giant and the top 5 we collectors vote for?
Secondly, everybody can buy them. I don't see what the big deal is? They're a premium product that don't sell well at retail. The main people who purchase WWE action figures are kids. They aren't going to blow however many dollars it costs for a Legends series figure on somebody like Hacksaw Jim Duggan when they could buy an excellent quality modern day wrestler in the Elite series, or 2 Basics figures.
Personally I'm happy. I'm happy if they've reduced the amount of figures they're putting out because I, as a life long collector, am legitimatly running out of space. I've just shuffled my room around and because I already had so many figures, I've nearly ran out of space again. Also, the amount of input the collectors (not the kids) are having on this line now it's on MattyCollector.com is unbelievable and flattering. I'd rather be given the choice of having Savio Vega and Faarooq in a line than a line being filled with another Stone Cold Steve Austin in street gear just because he sells well in shops.
It's a fantastic move, also, because think of how rare and valuble these figures will be in the future. Not released at mass market. Top quality legend figures. They could be very valuble in the future which makes collecting that little bit more exciting.
No, I'm happy with the decision. Fantastic move.

They said they will release 1 figure every other month. With Andre, and the 5 vote ins, that's 6 figures in 1 year.

Personally, I'm happy with the move... we (UK) never had the Legends figures at retail anyway and had to pay a lot for them online or from speciality stores. At least now, we will be able to find the Elite/Flashback series ones at retail. And we're used to buying Legends online - so the Matty.com only figures might even turn out to be less expensive(!). At the end of the day, Mattel are still going to make 18 Legends-type figures a year - plus the DM series. Pretty good in my book... it could have been a lot worse - and at least these great figures will still be made.

The impression I got was that they're going to release numerous series of Legends on MattyCollector.com and that the first one was Andre the Giant and the top 5 we collectors vote for? I wish that was the case but, sadly, it was confirmed in MattyCollector's site that the six Legends were going to be released over the entire year. The only concern I have comes from the frustrating experiences others have reported from ordering through MattyCollector. The nightmare scenario I fear is that on Nov 15th, at noon, the Rockers will go up for sale and the heavy traffic will cause the site to crash while people are trying to checkout. This already happened to me yesterday while trying to pre-order new Elite figures here and it was a hassle. Unlike RSC, where figures go on back-order if sold out, when a figure sells out on MattyCollectors, it looks like it's GONE! I don't want to spend an hour trying to checkout only to have a figure in my cart go out of stock before my screen finally loads. Thankfully, MattyCollectors offers subscriptions but so far, there's no news on any subscription for WWE Legends and that makes me nervous.

i am just happy they are still getting made. i only buy wrestlers i like, so a more selective people choice group of figures actually works better for me.
