Yeah that's the big problem that I see coming from this. Mattel is going to see all those votes for someone and think "oh this person must be in high demand". When in reality it was just a couple people sitting there all day long voting over and over again.

yup then they'll say , we dont get it , you guys voted for him to be made, and sales were terrible. i guess theres just no market for legends , yadda yadda yadda.... then we'll be back where we were scratching our heads when they blamed us for terrible sales of two packs and legend figs well hopefully not though, hopefully everything sells well regardless and legends pick back up. cuz seriously if legends are done then so is my collection and it would feel Half empty without Earthquake, Hercules , Big Boss Man and many more

Its cause certain d bags with no lives keep going back every single day all day and having there friends help and voting for dumb characters like Magnum TA?? WTF?? lol who even is that dude. And Arn Anderson. Ha i could name 20 guys better than anderson to make a fig of atm before him. Not that anderson is bad, hell he is way better than whoever Magnum TA is but come on, he is just gonne be another shelf warmer right beside Magnum TA. Mattel needs to hire me to make there Legends. Giant Gonzalez, Yokozuna, Doink, Earthquake, Typhoon, Brian Knobbs, Jerry Saggs, Sid Viscuous. Come on!! stop making these dudes from the 1970's that no one knows ha i been watchin wrestling since the mid 80's hardcore and steady and know alot of characters and alot about the business and Magnum TA totally does not need too be made when many other better ones could be

Mattel is just doing this poll too look for a someone other than themselves too blame when the legends line goes under. I mean look at the selection there saying already if this kid who posted is correct ha i mean Bundy is great and Liz but TA and Anderson will be total shelf warmers again cause the only ppl who know those guys are old men ha then there gonna turn around and say OH the legends line was not a hit bla bla bla basically sayin its our fault it went under. that way if anyone bitches to them about it, they can say, "hey we offered you, the fans, too pick the 2012 line up so ya did, and it failed. Its not our (mattel's) fault. Its the customers for making bad choices"

I thought we were only allowed to vote once a day? Yeah that's how it's supposed to be. Unfortunately you can go back on there continuously and vote as many times as you want in a day. So people aren't following the rules at all. You can also vote for more than 5 which is another fault in the poll.

Cause some nerds are sitting there for voting for the same thing all day, obviously. I have been voting for 5, once a day, like the rules say. Mattel needs to be aware of this. I bet they're not. Why would you be able to vote more than once anyways? Every fan should get 1 vote (of 5 characters)... and that's it.

DDP was good in the ring, not anywhere being near being a bad wrestler. His energy was fantastic. Thats a fact, not an opinion.

Yeah that's the big problem that I see coming from this. Mattel is going to see all those votes for someone and think "oh this person must be in high demand". When in reality it was just a couple people sitting there all day long voting over and over again. It's going to be like that no matter who wins. I guarantee half the people who voted aren't going to buy the figures when they see it'll be at least $35 shipped for 1 figure. Seriously how many complain about spending $25 on a DM where you get detailed accessories? Or they b1tch about having to pay $20 + shipping at RSC for a Legend? But at least RSC give you a dsicount...and if you buy the whole set from them with the discount it's maybe $10 more. With Mattel it'll be 1 figure offered at a time instead of a set without any discount and with shipping it'll be at least $35 for one figure everytime you buy one. There's a few of us that will spend that without batting an eye, but nowhere near as many that voted for them...especially when many of the board members voting don't have a credit card and would have to get their parents to purchase it for them which I'd bet will be a hard sell for most. (Remember Matty only takes Cedit Cards) DDP was good in the ring, not anywhere being near being a bad wrestler. His energy was fantastic. Thats a fact, not an opinion. No, that's your opinion. And who cares how much energy he had in the ring? The bottom line is his skills were still very lacking. And really I can't think of any match of his that he impressed me enough in that it stuck with me over the years. I'm not saying that to stir up any arguing that's just how I feel about him, but like I said before I would still buy him if he was a mass retail Heritage figure because I did like his mic work...but probably not as a $35 shipped Matty.com figure. Unless the other 4 figures were actual Legends and not Doink or Vega. But if the 3 of them were in the final 5 for the first year and Mattel was offering a WWE subscription I would pass on the subscription. Because that would be forcing me to spend at least $105 on 3 figures I really don't want. Like I said when they first mentioned the poll it was a mistake. They should have just picked the figures themselves.

I thought we were only allowed to vote once a day? in the thread 'who did you vote for legend s poll" "thechosenone" said he votes up to 150 times a day because mattel loves guys like him who drop lots of money on figures, and he spends more than anyone here and he deserves to have his 5 made and he would do whatever it took to ensure he got them..... Im just paraphrasing, but basically he could be voting 500 times a day for all we know, times that by 20 days and the contest is over before it even began. I dont Care who wins, i just want the vote to be fair so mattel can plan accordingly and hopefully Legends Will be a Success and continue, I dont Want Magnum T.A but if he won fairly then that might mean if sales are a success i can see guys i want like psycho sid and hercules later on, so i would be all for a magnum t.a ..... know what im sayin?

You know, I'm going to take a day before this thing ends and vote for Faarooq, DDP and Savio Vega 1000 times. That's my era and those are the figure I want to see, along with Liz, who is already getting the votes, and Magnum TA because he hasn't gotten a figure yet. I don't get why people would vote for Bundy, Arn, Tully, etc. guys that have already got great Jakks figures, vote for guys like Faarooq and Savio Vega that never got any type of classic figure, and who still only have BCA's...

I was voting, once a day for my top 5 but I stopped. I figured what's the point anyway. Mattel is going to make who they want to make, regardless of how the poll turns out. I think that they just want us to believe that we have a say in this.
The more I look at that list, the more disappointed I am. Of all the legends that could be made, these are what Mattel picks for us to vote on. Like some other posters have said, it feels like Mattel want's this line to fail, then blame us for it. I look and realize that I am not going to put out $20 or more for any of these figures. I wouldn't pay that for Bam Bam when he came out and he was one of my most wanted.
I get a real bad feeling about the future of this line. I hope I am wrong though.

Yea, when Mattel asked us what we wanted with the legends line, most of us said bigger names. Sure Mattel is giving us The Rockers and Andre but that's it?!? The ones they picked for us to vote on are ok at best. All of them were top mid carders. They didn't give us solid headliners. I would probably only get Miss Elizabeth. But Mattel wonders why they failed with the legends line. Still no big names. Hopefully Mattel reads are comments about the choices they gave us and about how the voting is skewed.

Mattel Only Listens to Dumb Ideas, IF you have a good point on something , or even 20 people , 50 people say the same thing, they will ignore it but they will listen to the first fan who says we need a gobleddy gooker figure or something equally as dumb ......
I Have a feeling we wont see all 5 of the figures that get voted in, Unless Mattel Can figure out how many people will actually buy the most voted figure, which will be pretty hard considering people are voting 100's of times per day.
Like Pj Said, Mattel Should have Picked The Figures and Picked them so everyone wins. Even if the Four Horsemen all Get Voted in, thats great for the Old timers who might even buy doubles of some of them, But the Attitude Era and Hulk Hogan Era Fans get the screw

I don't get why people would vote for Bundy, Arn, Tully, etc. guys that have already got great Jakks figures Heheh, I don't get why people who have the Jakks version of a wrestler assume other collectors also do or just should. I started collecting wrestling figures in 2009, the last year that Jakks had the WWE license. I only picked up a few RA/DA figures but I knew I was never going to backtrack too deeply into the Jakks roster because it would be too expensive to buy everything online. When Mattel started with Series 1, I was right there waiting to give them a chance and now, it's all that I collect. Except for a couple of recent purchases to get some announcers/commentators for my picture fed, the CS line doesn't exist to me. The Mattel figures are just vastly superior to them, IMO. I'm voting for King Kong Bundy because it's a figure I'd really like to get right now. Mattel has done a great job with all the big guys, like Kamala, Akeem, and Bam Bam, so I'd love to see how they make this monster. Miss Elizabeth is another must-have for me, Macho Man just doesn't seem complete without her. I mean, we already have Steamboat & George the Animal Steele, we just need her to complete a WM3 rematch! After those two, JYD, M$M, and Snuka are my picks to round out that classic era of wrestling. I like that guys like the Horsemen and Magnum TA are on the list but visually, they're just not as interesting to me right now. I'd still get them, though...How could you refuse the Horsemen or Brain Busters? For me, I really can't lose with the poll results. I like 16/17 of the names on that list and think they should all get made. I'd like for Mattel to find a way to really diversify their Legends strategy. I mean, aside from initializing the Matty Legends with the Rockers 2-pack, it's been reported that they're using them as a test to see if other 2-packs will be marketable. Here's an opportunity to get classic tag teams the way we want them! I'd be happy if some of the bi-monthly offerings turn out to be a 2-packs featuring guys like the Brain Busters, Hart Foundation, Dream Team, Blackjacks, and other classic teams. M$M, OMG, & Snuka are guys that were already done in some form and just need to tweaked to be perfect. Those are great candidates for future All-Stars lineups. Just throw in other good repaints like Camo Slaughter and Steamboat in white. For those complaining about the lack of big names, I'm still pretty sure that those are being reserved for Flashbacks. I wish Mattel would gives us some confirmation about that but it makes sense that guys like Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Diesel, and Yokozuna would do better at mass retail. I'd suggest throwing JYD, DDP, and Doink into the Flashback series too. I feel that Mattel is trying to get a lot of these Legends out by working smart and spreading them out throughout the different lines. Only time will tell if my hunch is right or not. For now, I just want Matty to put up a WWE subscription already!

I do not see the price of a Legends figure, with shipping, on Mattycollector.com being more than US$28 shipped. I live on the east coast and all the GB figures I purchase are US$20 plus US$8 for shipping (from California). US$35 (w/ shipping) is not a realistic price tag for a figure which was previously priced at US$15.99 MSRP. Not to mention, the character selection being what it is. Only a select few would pay US$35 for Tully Blanchard or Magnum TA. Even if the core demographic for the Legends figures has changed to hardcore collectors with deep pockets.
Second, the Legends poll which was on this forum provided you with a realistic demand of the Mattycollector.com Legends figures. Out of 149 voters and 717 votes here were the results. I highlighted the notables.
Arn Anderson (61 votes, 8.5%) Barry windham (35 votes, 4.8%) KING KONG BUNG (46 votes, 6.4%) demolition (5 votes, 0.6%) crush (54 votes, 7.5%) doink (54 votes, 7.5%) ddp (83 votes, 11.5%) don muraco (14 votes, 1.9%) tully blanchard (30 votes, 4.1%) tito santana (27 votes, 3.7%) savio vega (19 votes, 2.6%) one man gang (22 votes, 3%) miss elizabeth (96 votes, 13.3%) Million Dollar Man (58 votes, 8%) magnum ta (29 votes, 4%) jyd (20 votes, 2.7%) Jimmy Snuka (19 votes, 2.6%) Faarooq (45 votes, 6.2%)
The top characters were by far Elizabeth & DDP with Arn, M$M, Crush & Doink rounding out the bottom. Faarooq and Bundy dueling it out for a chance at the 5th/6th spot. What is even more interesting is the bottom 2 leaders (Doink & Crush) have almost double the votes Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard received. This is striking which is why the Mattycollector poll should start over. It is obvious hardcore collectors (149 voters of this board which chose to vote) want these characters. The only way polling of anything is successful is when constraints are placed on the poll. If not, the poll is invalid due to human error.
I think we can all agree the selection of characters and the idea of a poll this size was to good to be true from the start. Also, in my opinion, the Legends line is finished if character like Magnum TA, Tully Blanchard, Gobbly Gooker, etc. are its future. I for one have no interest in characters from the 70's/early 80's (unless huge stars) and figures like a Gooker or the Executioner (at this time). There are more important and memorable superstars which should have priority. Sorry, I am a Golden Era (late 80's & early 90's) & Attitude Era guy which I assume most people are given the fact professional wrestling was at its pinnacle during these era's.
