Hey everyone,
I walked to Target today and found an Elite 9 (?) Miz. I was really stoked because it's the first time I've seen him. Anyway, I finally get home and I open him up and and I tried to move his waist. It didn't move at all. I tried a little harder and still nothing. It's just stuck in place, and I'm pretty upset. Is there a way I can get this exchanged or something? I don't want to return it because I think that'd be shady to someone else. Can I get a refund? I guess it's not broken it just doesn't move right. The reason it's a big deal is because I like to play and pose with my figures.
Has this happened to anyone else? Can I do anything about this? Also, I already tried the boiling water thing and nothing happened :/ .
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dallas

Do the boiling water thing, then put him in the freezer. Do this multiple times and it might come loose. Don't freeze water in there, just do a massive contrast between hot and cold.

A hair dryer works as well. I had the same problem with my Elite 5 Rey

I had the exact same thing happen with my Elite Goldust. I tried boiling water, the freezer thing and even just brute force. That sucker was stuck! I stayed with it though, and eventually with some carefully applied strength, it finally came loose and its perfect now.

This happened to my E8 Sheamus, I just did the boiling water thing and just tried to move it gently and eventually it worked. He is in perfect condition now.

I'll try the Hair dryer thing in a minute, I'm glad I bought one when I had long hair haha.

can't you give Mattel a call and they'll give you coupon for a figure in the future?

It's a stuck waist, not a complete QC failure
Just grab him and twist, it'll free up eventually and if by chance it does break in any way (HIGHLY unlikely, I've never had a figure break at the waist), just return it to the store as defective

I had an elite 1 Edge that had that problem. None of the tricks worked. I eventually returned it.

So strange.... I basically collect only Elites/Legends and the occasional Basic. I must have near 100 and I have had so many common problems such as loose ankles, shirt stains, paint smudges, and even opposite thighs, etc.... but never once have I had this problem with the torso/hips.
Like the posters above said- boiling water seems to be the common route, but if all else fails return it to Target and if they have no more Miz's, call Mattel, explain it in detail and they should hook you up with a 16 dollar credit considering your problem is legit (I hope nobody abuses this, as it ruins it for the one with true defective figs)

I've done both the boiling water trick and twisting trick the only time I was worried about breaking it was with my elite Rey. So I ran a razor blade between the waist and torso, it sliced the glue that was holding the two parts together and now there's no issues with his articulation.

It's just stuck in place, and I'm pretty upset. Is there a way I can get this exchanged or something? I don't want to return it because I think that'd be shady to someone else. Can I get a refund? I guess it's not broken it just doesn't move right. If you're unhappy and none of the tricks work then return it. You're not being shady, just tell the customer service the figure isn't working correctly. If they are doing their job right, the bad figure won't go back out for sale.

I wonder what the facial expression will be on the sales person when you tell them that the figure isn't working correctly cuz you know they are going to be like "what... whats it suppose to do?" lol Would love to be there for that

These could be factory rejects but repacked into moc and sold. Good luck! Mattel's QC is really crap now. My Elite Sheamus had a VERY loose ankle and his foot was bent cos of the placement in the plastic bubble! And Elite Zac Ryder had stains on his thigh cos of the black thread used to hem his see-through shirt
