I could never see myself stopping. I always think I stop. I take breaks from watching and collecting. But I could NEVER truly stop. Not so much the watching but I'm always like "I'm only getting the ones I really really want" then I just go to the store and buy a sh@$load of figures. I'll never stop

I am actually thinking about stopping now. I have stopped searching through basics since they stopped the belt thing. Legends didn't really affect me at all. Elites are getting to be almost (key word) the same damn characters with different attires.

I don't plan on stopping collecting Mattel figures anytime soon, seeing as they have so many Superstars and Legends to make. The only thing that could stop me from collecting is Mattels crappy distribution or prices going up.

I want to at least slow down due to both money and space (I usually buy at least 4-5 of 6 of every new basic and elite series and keep them all MOC) but I don't think I have it in me to do so JUST yet.

Lack of Nexus 2-packs has put a damper on things for me. Kind of rubs me the wrong way.
I've been thinking of quitting collecting recently.

I have collected since the BCA days and stopped during 3/4 the way into CS. Then sold them all.
Mattel got me back into it, but now I only buy the guys a truly like. Not complete rosters or the old "buy one and then another version comes out later and I say well I've got to buy this one".
From that stance, it is easy to collect. So I'm in for the long haul...... again. ;D

At 28 years old, I don't think it's ever possible to stop.

There is nothing wrong with buying a few figures a month. People spend much on alcohol and cigarettes which is bad for you.

That's is the exact question I am wrestling with. I really can't decide on weather I should stop collecting or not. But Lately I must admit I lean more towards stop collecting for good

I think a lot of people are "done collecting" like a lot of people were "NEVER buying Mattel".
No one should put any hobby above their basic needs. Aside from that, though, it would be like a movie-buff saying, "I think I'm done watching movies. I've seen all the ones I care to see." "What if a really cool movie comes out?" "Eh, maybe I'll watch it eventually, but I think I'm really done with movies."
And, really, by the time I pay for me and my wife, popcorn, and ONE drink, it's about the cost of 2-3 figures (depending on the type, in the US). That movie lasts two hours tops. Figures last until they're lost, melted, or stolen.

NOPE. I get every figure I want and or like. It's not a problem. I work for money when I feel like it and always split it in two- half for spending, half for saving. Pretty much I'm still a kid so it's no problem.

I'm not going to totally stop, as I'll buy every Bret Hart, but I think I'm going to stop collecting Legends after I finish Legends 6, snag the Rockers 2-Pack, and pick up Andre in January.
I'll still collect Defining Moments, but Legends and Elite Throwbacks not meshing well packaging-wise has made me not want to collect them anymore.

I haven't quit but I have decided to slow it down. My main interest is/was the Legends and thanks to the changes being made, my collecting will slow down. As far as what we seen produced at Comic Con, the only figures I see myself buying by the end of the year are Elite Gabriel, Bryan, Del Rio, Barrett, Papa Shango and flashback Kane.

Yeah, I could tell you I was going to stop but then Mattel would put protos out of something that was incredible and I would just have to unquit.
There are still too many guys I want, Bret, Razor, Diesel, late 90s HBK, updated Punk, Sin Cara, Barreta, and eventually Seth Rollins is going to be brought up and lord knows Mattel can't put that figure out fast enough for my liking. And then there is the case of great updated guys who change their look, it's just a never ending cycle for me because until I stop watching wrestling all together, I'm not going to up and stop collecting, I love it too much.
If it wasn't figures it would just be something else.

I don't plan on stopping, but I am working on a plan of only keeping the roster current in basics and the Legends series. With the increasing number of simple repaints (Cena, Orton, Rey, HHH, for example) I've been able to skip a lot of figures lately. With the decrease in Legends, at least for now, I am also saving a lot of money there.
