How did Ben Mee look for Burnley yesterday? I've ony seen extended highlights, but he put in a few hard challenges from what I've seen although his tackle lead to their 2nd goal. Not really sure he can be blamed for it or not really. Treacy was our best player despite coming on half way through the 2nd half. Got the an assist (the goal could have been given to him tbf) as well as his debut goal. Great result for us, as much as I hoped I didn't see us winning that game. I think we definitely earned a point at least, we did well, worked hard and at times yes we were lucky but I think we deserved the points. I think Gestede changed the game, Earnie and Miller both struggled but Gestede really had an impact. Loved Kenny Miller's celebration, he's going to be a hit with the fans. Very happy with that result, also off Kevin Nolan, your a joke! What did he do? He did the ayatollah running over to the Cardiff fans and wengt a bit mad!

The Cardiff game seemed destined to be a draw, didn't think we would nick it but glad we did. Puts us in the running for a play-off spot despite the tough competiton. I agree with Himmy, Miller and Earnie didn't really do much but its only thier first game. I'm reserving my judgement on the newer guys for now till they have time to settle in. But the French striker looked decent.

But thought they might thrash us but its good to see us get off to a good start.

Forgot to mention how great the Football Writers Player of the Year Scott Parker was today, absolutley immense!! Wouldn't surprise me if he was still with West Ham come September 1st. He's a pretty limited player.

Meh, dunno if to create a thread about the domestic cups or not. I'll just post in here for now..
Anyway...ecstatic we've been given Brighton away in the 2nd round of the League Cup, local game for me, fantastic new stadium and should be one hell of an atmosphere. Was there for the Gillingham 1st round match and despite the game being quite poop, the fans were great. Can see us crumbling tbh, if anything is to go by from end of last season, Lua Lua & Noone will scare the poop out of our full backs with their pace and skill.

Col-scum today...we beat them in the cup on Tuesday, down at our place. Today we're playing at their place but hopefully we'll be able to pick up the three points. Two seasons ago we picked up a point when we played them away, with our legendary Gareth Ainsworth equalising at the death with a 'hand of God' style finish. COYB!

Gareth Ainsworth is a legend, loved him when he played for us, even though it was brief! As for the League Cup, we've got Huddersfield at home in the 2nd round. Really rate them and Lee Clark, should be a cracking game. I'll be there.

He's scored some brilliant goals for us and for someone aged 38, his pace is something to behold. Last season he left defenders, some half his age, chasing shadows.

As far as Huddersfield go, I'm dreading playing them this season. They trounced us 6-0 in front of the Sky cameras two seasons ago and as you say, they've got a fantastic manager in Lee Clark.

say we are top of the league. We are top of the league. Kept looking at the Sky Sports Sports Centre and we just kept scoring. Great stuff.

Good to see that Don Cowie has come out and praised the way we play before tonights game, he's a very good player. I like him quite a lot since half of my family are from Watford and always keep an eye on their results. Anyway, before tonight match, I'd be very happy if we come away with a point, haven't beaten Cardiff in Cardiff since '84

Awful ref at Leicester today, although I suppose it doesn't really excuse losing to one of the worst sides in the league, SSL gave Maynard the second. Gutted.

That was a shcoking result last night. We were pretty good in the first half, then Brighton socred a goal from distance completely against the run of play. Then Mackail-Smith fell over and a penalty was given, then Brighton defended the lead and hit us on the break. Not good but we should have been winning by the end of the 1st half. Oh well, reality check.

How did we look Himmy? BBC say we deserved the win and was the best performance under Poyet, but several places say that Cardiff rn the game until Barnes' goal and that it was completely against the run of play..

In the 2nd half you looked solid defensively and controlled the game whilst effictively shutting us out. The Barnes goal came against the run of play, we were on top in the first half and forced your keeper into a few saves.

ing disgraceful ref, penalty given for Matt Mills falling over and his hand touching the ball, Kasper argues about it and gets a booking, Forest score, Kasper throws the ball towards the center-spot and gets a second yellow! Disgusting, referee trying to make a name for himself again, too many of them. Never felt so pissed off after a football match.
