So I was in Big Lots the other day and saw Iron Sheik,Rick Rude, and Terry Funk from series 2. Sheik was marked at 8$ while the other two were marked at 13$. I said 8 is good and went to register with all three thinking I could get them all at 8. I did not and as I kindly explained to the guy they should all be the same price because they were the same series he said no they are different prices. After showing him the 3 pics on the back to prove they were all the same series he still said well there is a reason they are different prices. There should have been no reason. I have worked a little retail and everywhere else I have worked would have marked them down to 8. I called customer service to register my complaint, not even so much that I didnt get them for 8 but that they should have all been the same price. They said there is a reason, and I dont know what to tell you after that. Guy on the phone was kinda a jerk to be honest. Am I wrong to be upset?

Funny you mentioned this cause about a month ago when i stopped in my big lots too purchase Rick Rude, I seen another Rude. Mine was $8 and the Other Rick Rude was $13. How is that possible? lol Same with Iron Sheik. One was $8 and the other was $13. I mean i could see them charging a little more for certain ones in the set but come on too charge $8 for one guy, then turn around and Charge $13 for the same guy while there sitting right beside each other??? lol

There was someone on the board who had a this problem not too long ago. He got 2 of the Legends for 8 but Kamala was marked 13. The employees told him that Kamala cost more because he came with accesssories. He even took it to corporate and they said the same thing. F Big Lots. The place sucks.

Got told the same thing about the accessories when I called corporate. It was ridiculous.

Like I said in the other thread, and before it gets all twisted around in regards to why they should or shouldn't be higher and why you should or shouldn't have to pay more -
Big Lots originally had their Legends figures for $13. Shortly after, the price dropped to $8. Most of the ones that were already priced higher didn't get changed, leading to figures in the stores at two different prices.

If they had a legitimate explanation for the price difference I wouldn't have a problem with it. There's no law that says if products are from the same series they have to be the same price. The store could charge whatever they want for anything. The tradeoff is that if the customer doesn't like the price the customer doesn't have to make the purchase.

Their explanation was "maybe these guys are more popular than the other" and corporate said "the more expensive ones probably had more accessories"
It wasnt like we have more of these that the others. I honestly think that is a store to store thing. But, they had no idea as to why they were different, they basically just said here is the price nothing we can do about it.
I wasnt mad at the cashier, he is only allowed to do so much. But it seems very inconsistent.

Cry some more, please. Work retail longer than a "little" and you'll understand what muccguy88 mentioned:
If you don't like the price, then don't buy it. The company can charge whatever they please. This also proves the custom ISN'T always right.

Stores can set whatever prices they want....look at TRU, why are Elites $16.99 and Basics $11.99 when Mattel claims they have requested NO price increase?
And as far as different figures from the same set....I guess they have the power to do that to. Look at RSC, in any given set one figure might be as much as $20 more than another figure in the SAME SET.
I guess the bottom line is that whomever HAS THE ITEM can set whatever price they want for it, and if you don't like it nobody is forcing you to buy it. It doesn't seem fair, but that's the way it is.

I mean the prices were right there on the box, right in your face. It's not like anyone lied to you about the pricing.
They have 1 set marked at $13/figure... and 1 set marked at $8/figure.
It doesn't make a whole lotta sense... but... those are the prices.

This isn't a Terry Funk and an Iron Sheik we're talking about, it's two of the same figure. That's evidence that someone on their end screwed up and isn't doing their job. If Big Lots isn't able to keep the same item priced consistently on their shelves, and is, in fact, taking a "like it or lump it" approach - like you imply they should - to their own ineptitude at the customer's expense, anyone should be able to see that this is just poor business practice. Otherwise, they're just trolling.

@triple s This isnt an issue to me of not liking the price, of course I dont like the price that some places set. But TRU WalMart dont set figure price from the same set at different prices. RSC is a completely other entity all its own. They know who is and isnt collectable, they know who collectors want and price accordingly. That being said I dont consider RSC retail. They are a specialized internet store. I never thought the customer is always right, in fact a lot of times the customer is wrong. I dont subscribe to that idea that major retailers have. I know if you dont like the price dont buy it, I am not an idiot. My "little" retail experience taught me all of that, I have dealt with jerks who have thought if they said something was a lower price it should be honored. I get it I know I have been there. Same figures should be same price, and in retail same series should be same price its not Ringside its retail.

Exactly.
This is more of a case like walking into Walmart and seeing one peg of John Cena figures marked $10, and a peg right beside it full of the same figure marked $15. No one in their right mind would take a Cena to the cash register, get charged $15, and not try to get it for $10.
The only point here is that Big Lots needs to get their stuff straight. I don't see why there's any debate.

Big Lots really screwed this up. Here's what one of the managers ( I think) showed me. Big Lots has different people buying product to sell. The first buyer bought the Legends to sell at $13 (it's given a price sticker and upc). A second buyer bought more Legends afterwards but got them at a lower price and was able to sell them at $8 (they got a different price sticker and upc). I don't know if this is true. She says it happens with other items too. But it makes more sense than that "accessories nonsense". BTW the only reason the women gave them all to me for $8 each was that there was a store sign advertising them for $8. Another guy at a different store just adjusted the price on all to $8. So it all depends on the worker.

Simply put, yes you are wrong to be upset. If they were marked $8 and rang up at $13 you could be mad and if they were $18 and wouldn't ring up at all you could be mad. Being mad because something is being sold at its marked price is boarder line stupid. The figures may have been priced oddly but they cost what the store says they cost and you can either pay it or go home without your toys.

You got a Sheik for $4. Stop trying to make it sound better than it is.
I also find it absurd to buy Legends for $13 from a discount store. I went to Big Lots today and found every one from series 2, but i refuse to pay Big Lots $13 for items that should be cheaper.
