Let this be a lesson to reality stars thinking they're above making the press rounds: you don't promote, people don't watch; people don't watch, you get canceled. Such is the circle of reality TV life that claimed another victim today, as TLC confirms it has formally dropped Kat Von D's LA Ink from its lineup. "TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last," the cable net said in a statement. "The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles." Kat herself has yet to comment on the cancellation news, though just yesterday was tweeting about her frustrations with the show. Responding to a follower who said she was more annoying on the show, she corrected them, writing, "Perhaps a better way to say it is 'the show is more annoying'…Trust me, wish it could be about art only." It's probably just as well. What with the current fourth season of the reality show opening up to Kat getting a retrospectively ill-advised tattoo of her ex-fiancé Jesse James (to say nothing of the media storm stirred up by her walking off the set of an interview), there was really no way she could've topped it next year. The series finale will air Sept. 15. ca.eonline.com/news/tats_it_kat_von_ds_la_ink_erased_by_tlc/258920?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_tv-movies

i think that show has jumped the shark (eventhough it's "reality") when she let a random recovering addict that she didn't even know live with her

LA Ink was one of my favorite shows for years. I'll be sad to see it go. It's not as good as it used to be but not as bad as a lot of people say either.

I saw a few episodes of the new season with my girlfriend, it seemed like there was much less drama than before, but it was still there.
I love seeing her say, "I wish it could be about art only, trust me."
Even she knows it's hard to watch.
Best of luck to her. She's doin' fine.

I am glad that show is off the air! I HATE KAT! She totally dissed the Miami guys that helped make her who she is buy leaving them high and dry. She became the biggest arrogant bitch I have ever seen on TV. Yeah she maybe a good tattoo artist, but there's more out there that are just as good or better that would be better suited to be "Reality TV" worthy than her.

As someone with tattoos, this is a big victory. These tattoo shows give people like me horrible stereotypes out in public.
