I normally don't buy Mattel figures, and in fact I'm in the process of liquidating my Jakks collection (Someone just bought a Mega Maniacs 3 pack from me for $50, would you believe it?), but anyways I saw Elite 9 Zack Ryder on the shelf at Wal-Mart today because I know it's short packed and in demand. Anyone think this might be a figure to hold onto in the future that might increase in value? He's a relatively popular character with a certain segment of fans, but not on TV enough that he's likely to get a second Elite figure. Currently it's selling for $34.99 on RSC, and around $25 on Amazon.com. Anyone else think if I hold onto this for a little while longer I might be able to get $40 or $50 for it?

I would guess that the ship on E9 Ryder being of high value has sailed. While initially hard to find, Wal-Mart, Target, and even K-Mart have been stocking E9 as of late.

honestly I think the figure will come down in value... Possibly in a few years it could go up a little bit near the $30-40 price range pending on his future figures but for a while I don't think you'll be able to get $40-50 for it.

No not really as much as a few months back. I think you could get up to $30-$35 shipped. But if the fig cost $16 to buy maybe $7 to ship plus eBay n paypal fees u wont make too much on it.

I would hold on to it a few months. Can't predict what you're going to get, but I held on to a Kelly Kelly figure for about 9 months and then it went for $46 on the bay.

My advice is don't look at toys as investments...if you want the figure because it is a beautiful figure or you like the character , pick it up for that reason.

yeah i think down the line it will go up. i mean it was so in demand now and there are still ppl out there who have not gotten one or cant find him. you could easily wait 10 years from now and sell that figure for more. i mean there are goin too be wwe collectors down the road who have no mattels and new kids being born, who 10 years from now are going too want too collect all the mattels and well as someone said earlier that ship will have sailed already and no one will be able too get him anymore as easy or cheap or nothin. Look at Kelly Kelly she still runs a good $50 on amazon so its very possible. But like aggressiveperfector said dont look at figures as an investment cause there is no guarantees. The only investment it becomes worth is if you collect alot of them in MOC and plan too sell the set down the line, or if your ordering new sets and reselling those as ppl want them in demand, before they get released such as E11 Punk

It's really a gamble, there is a chance that he will do something big and become extremely popular. There is also is also a chance that everyone will forget about him and he will eventually get released without leaving his mark. If you like risks I would say hold onto the figure for awhile.

Don't be a scalper. If you like Zack Ryder or that figure, buy it. Otherwise, leave it there for someone else who does.

What it's worth is what the person you're selling it to is willing to pay for it.

$14-$17 depending on what store I see it at. Other than that I donb't can about the so called secondary market prices, because I don't believe or get involved with it. I buy a figure because of 2 reasons. 1. I like it or 2. A friend asked me to help them out.
That's the only reason I buy a figure. If it doesn't fall in one of those 2 catagories I leave them on the pegs for those that do want them.

Regardless of being shortpacked, it's mass produced so no don't buy the yacht just yet.

What it's worth is what the person you're selling it to is willing to pay for it. Best advice i ever gotten when trying to sell stuff! Yes you can have an asking price but it always comes down to what that person would pay for it.
