How would you guys suggest that I store custom figures? I can't just keep them piled up in a box or bin since the paint chips off and other sculpted pieces otherwise break off. I've tried "stacking" them neatly in bins and covered with thin towels, but over time, the cloth tends to stick to the paint resulting in figs covered in fuzz.
Any suggestions are appreciated -thanks! MSF

No shelf space available dude. That's why I've got to stash 'em for now.

i can completely relate to your problem MaskedSuperstarFan. I always have a lot of in-progress customs about the place and for many years I struggled to find places to store them tidily and safely. I actually solved the problem a few months ago though - i now store my "in-progress" customs in some felt-lined document drawers. i don't know if that's the correct name for them, but basically they're leather-look drawers within a leather-look outer case, lined with felt, and they're supposed to be for office use. to keep documents in. like an in-tray for papers. they really are excellent for the job. the felt prevents the figures from getting damaged or sliding around and the drawers are just the right height for figures (lying down on their back), and while they are slid-inside, it keeps the dust away. i actually have 4 altogether. 2 large (A4ish) size, and 2 smaller, A5ish size. i use the smaller one for just bits and pieces (ie heads) i got it them from a store called Homebase, here in England. i found one of them on their website. i think this is the smaller one: www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/spam/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=505599&c_3=3|cat_14418165|Filing+Cabinets+and+Office+Storage|14418172&c_2=2|cat_16849245|Office+Furniture|14418165&c_1=1|category_root|Furniture+and+Homewares|16849245if you can't find this item exactly, i'd recommend just looking in any office supply store at their selection of desk-organization products, such as in-trays. the ones i use are a lot pricier than cardboard or plastic storage solutions (think i paid £10-15 each for mine) but the protection provided by the felt lining is worth the price IMO.

Thanks, Assassin! There's a Office Depot and Office Max right down from me. I'll see what they have.

just thought you might like to know that I got a staples.co.uk mail-order catalogue in the mail today. and while flicking through i happened to notice they sell the larger 3-drawer version of the exact drawers i have. plus they also sell an even bigger 5-drawer version.
might be worth you looking on staples.com. i can't search there myself cos it keeps trying to redirect me to the UK page... the exact product names according to staples.co.uk are
"OSCO Brown Faux Leather 3 Drawer Sorter" and "OSCO Brown Faux Leather 5 Drawer Sorter"
again i really can't recommend them highly enough, they're the perfect solution for storing in-progress customs IMO
