Hey, i just got the whole home DVR service from Direct TV. 1 HDVR, and 1 HD receiver for an extra TV. I came to learn that the HD receiver can't pause live tv but I can still record shows. I figured an easy way around it, by figuring out that if I just start recording a show before I start watching it and then play it at the same time, i can pause and rewind because its recording as i watch. Then I can just delete it after. Any way my question is, I began recording a show on the HD receiver, went to play it, and it keeps popping up on both the main tv HDVR and the sub tv with the HD receiver. I think it has something to do with the "sharing" option on for the DVRs. If i turn off the sharing should i then be able to record a show on one tv, watch it, record something on the other tv, and watch it at the same time? I dont want to interfere with the other TV everytime i watch a recording.
*thanks for any help, I might figure it out later the main problem is that the main HDVR is in my friends room and he's one of those people who don't let anyone configure their stuff for them. I think i can fix it from there but i have to wait till his ass is asleep
